This thing is fantastic. It plays nearly every game I bought it for very smoothly. It struggles with a few game cube, psp and ps2 games (3D games) but with some setting tweaking it’s able to make most of them playable. Every console below those that I’ve tried run flawlessly; especially 2D games. There’s options to order with a pre loaded SD card, but setting it up from scratch with a curated game library is well worth the learning curve. You can also download roms directly from the device which makes things a lot easier.

El producto es bueno ,solo que no Trae los 4 mil juegos que dice por eso le Pongo 3 Estrellas, no Trae ningun juego de Nintendo. Tendran que ponerle ustedes los juegos.

I’m very new when it comes to portable emulation. After a good bit of research I decided on the Anbernic 556 for its look and capability. The screen is large and interactive. Ergonomically sound. The process to add roms is seamless (as long as you know what to do-which is very easy to learn as well). Plays PS2 and GC games well also (aside from DMC and DMC3 which I’ll need to tweak the settings). But the main games I wanted (RE, parasite Eve, Metroid Prime) along with NES, SNES and Genesis are flawless. The display is beautiful and has great battery life too. The button input show no latency. My minor drawbacks are the charge port should be at the top. Just better for charging or connecting to an HDMI. I would bypass the sd that comes with it. Most of the roms you’ll likely not want and you should buy a more quality card-like SanDisk or Samsung.Oh! And you can record with or without sound and upload directly to YouTube 🥰

I’ve had the Anbernic RG556 for a couple months now and I’ve taken it on 2 plane trips and one road trip and I have to say it is easily one of the best handheld emulator devices I have ever got my hands on. From the S-NES all the way to the Switch. The battery runs for almost 2 days on full battery charge. The feel of it makes it even more enjoyable since it feels just right in your hands, not too bulky or small. Obviously, you will have to optimize some games for them to work like butter but it does not take a long time to learn how to set up the device and learns how to optimize your games at all. It’s probably the most simple device to work with on that front. It performs the middle aged consoles just right (PS1-2,XBOX) with ease and barely any problems with lag or any type of unstableness. I love a handheld that you can just put games on. So far, I have a couple hundred games, including Silent Hill 1-4, Resident Evil 1-4, Spongebob, Goosebumps, Megaman, etc etc. I love how you can make your own game library with such ease. Overall, this system is a go-to for anybody who wants a well performing customizable handheld experience.

Product not as describe, battery life not so great, not easy to use, I feel the value for the money is bad, games on the external memory not 4423 as stated on the description. Feel, functionality and build was decent. Product was new and unused, but the box was not seal

Unfortunately I purchased a couple of duds before I found this Anbernic product. One thing you MUST do is purchase a nice Sandisk SD card and then use that for your ROM storage. The cards that these come with are absolute junk and you will see an overall better performance from the device if you use a nicer SD card. As for the device itself, the screen is beautiful, the controls feel awesome and it plays a LOT of the old school stuff up to PS2. So far I've only found a handful of PS2 games it struggles with (Marvel Nemesis, God of War 2 for example) - but after testing dozens of other great PS2 games it plays them with ease! You can also play Wii, Gamecube, Dreamcast, and of course all the old systems as well. If you're going to purchase this please spend the extra $5 and get a nice rubber grip case for it. Well worth it, plus you get a screen protector which is also a must imo. Overall I would highly recommend this device, you can do a lot of different things with it. Even bluetooth an extra controller for 2 player games, or stream the display to your smart TV! Really excited to see what this company makes next. I have the 35XX as well and it runs a lot of PSX and Saturn games with ease.

I bought this handheld because I wanted one that could play DS, 3DS and PS2 games since the RG40XXV cannot.Pros:Does not feel cheapController is nice and clickyScreen is very niceCons:It runs android instead of linux like their other handheldsSome of the emulators just do not workSome of my roms do not work either even though they work on my desktop and steam deckThe custom made frontend is not able to detect my romsI wanted to test some android games so I installed Genshin, Wuthering Waves and Fortnite. Fortnite was unsupported and would not start. Genshin installed but could not detect the built in controller and Wuthering Waves would not let me play because it said the device was rooted. I don't understand why Anbernic wouldn't just load it with their linux distro, it works great on their other handhelds. My best bet for getting any use out of this device will be to unlock the bootloader and install debian or arch on it then install emulation-station DE. If I manage to unlock the bootloader and install a new OS maybe I will update my review.
