Haven’t used it yet but seems very high quality and I did as recommended and let it sit in hot water for about ten minutes to get it nice and straight and flexible and put it aside hanging up that way so it’ll stay stretched out straight but if it gives me any trouble when using it; I’ll definitely update my review but I’ve used the smaller ones that are half inch and 6 feet long and they work amazing so I expect this will operate just as well because it is definitely a high quality and sturdy setup…; Update! I’ve finally used it multiple times and the speed this thing syphon out diesel is absolutely astounding!!! Extremely easy to get started and once it’s flowing; it’ll literally blow your mind at how fast it comes out especially if you’ve ever used the smaller 1/2” ones…., the only thing I’ve noticed is that the copper end isn’t very secure and I’ve lost it a few times and probably every second or third use and luckily have found it again after but has made for some serious fishing expeditions and a magnet won’t help because it’s made of copper or brass so you can’t just fish it out…; anyways; what I’ve ended up doing is putting a small clamp over the hose where the copper shaker end slides inside and will be trying that and i think that’ll solve the problem but it probably should come with something to make sure it isn’t able to fall out of the hose and then even worse to have it that you can’t even use an extendable magnet or a fishing magnet to retrieve it because it’s made of copper or brass is actually what I think it is…; could use a few improvements but I’ve actually ordered a second one so i must like it; just maybe put a clamp or some sort immediately before using at all would be my suggestion to anyone buying this but the manufacturer shouldn’t make us have to make corrections to their product after we’ve received it and I’ve seen many people complain about this but they’ve still not addressed the issue so you’ll need to address it yourself but you’ll definitely be happy with how it works if you don’t lose the end of it…; i think they could at least make it ofSomething that can be grabbed with a magnet but it almost feels like it’s left that way even with all the complaints in the reviews so that you’ll probably need to buy it again after learning your lesson and correcting the issue yourself when it’s as simple as a clamp or somehow glue it to the hose or something, but I did purchase a couple now and am securing them myself with clamps

Arrived today and supplied in a basic but functional cardboard box.It looks ok with a brass "jiggle valve" and quality tubing. A couple of minor kinks near the output end of the tube. Nothing serious and probably will be removed by immersing in hot water as the very brief info. supplied suggests. The only problem I've experienced, so far, is that the ball in the valve gets stuck, probably caused by back pressure in the tube before the siphon effect takes over. I've found that if it stops jiggling, then pushing the ball in and trying again will eventually get the very impressive siphon working.

When I did a test run of this product, I quickly found the ball gets stuck, preventing you from being able to use it properly.HOWEVER, I did find a solution to simply fix that. You just need pliers. Simply clamp down LIGHTLY just enough to press the end of the fitting in a bit, SLIGHTLY dented inward, that prevents it from getting stuck as the ball can't seal properly. If you press it in to much, may not work. I will include some photos of my adjusted fitting. Simply use pliers and it prevents the ball from getting stuck. Successfully siphoned 10 times In a row, no ball stuck. Best bet is to clamp down a bit, test it, still stuck? Clamp back down on it a bit, retest. Works for me now.DRAINAGE: Yes it drains fast. It takes about 30 -45 seconds to drain a full 5 gallon bucket. Drains well, works well if the ball isn't stuck. We fixed that problem, now it's a 5 star.

The hose has a Basic concept of use-right?!? The "ball" acts like a simple one-way "value" that opens and closes quickly as you jiggle the hose up and down-thus making/managing the suction-until gravity takes over. I purchased American for several reasons -and (paid more). I was expecting quality parts, construction, and better "engineering" AND quality control. This one misses on all marks!?!! The quality of the clear hose seems to be the cheapest, most annoying one they could find! The management of the hose itself can be a challenge! The hose fights you every step of the way!?! It tries to remain "coiled" at all times!?!! The "quality" of the fit and finish (yes I know it's a suction hose) is just sloppy the castings and attachments are just what you expect for a Cheap $3 china-made product?!? -(if you were careless you made this) -BUT THIS IS MADE In THE USA!????!!The biggest thing is IT DOES NOT WORK!!!! Really they can NOT manufacture basic simple tolerance for this to function?!?! The ball does move and water does start to fill ....But only the first 5 inches!!!!?? The ball stop jiggling!!! Thinking the ball just simply got stuck- I pressed it back "in" . The "ball" seemed to be moving freely without issues-until it start to attempt to draw water past about 6 inches!?!! Then it stopped over and over!?!!! -Returning this unit - I guess I will try the china made version at a much lower price?!? What the worst can it do?!? It will/could/may work?!!!Sad, I wanted to give the money and support to the USA!

I read the negative reviews and would like to share my positive experience. Admittedly, I only used the siphon once so far, but it worked perfectly well. It was easy to start the siphon, and there was no issue with the check valve. For those complaining of the hose being shipped in a coil tighter than they would prefer, I would remind you that larger/more packaging costs more money to produce, store, and ship. It’s also bad for the environment. The instructions say to heat the hose in warm water if you would like to straighten it. This is hardly an issue to complain about. The product is made in the USA, where we pay a good wage, so the price is more expensive than the Chinese brands. It makes sense to support ourselves, so buy American and gladly pay a couple dollars more to support our economy. My only gripe is that the product information does not include the outer diameter of the hose and of the copper check valve. Also, I wish they made smaller sizes. I’d like to get one for gasoline, and this size hose is too large to fit in my car’s gas tank. Yes, I realize I can buy a smaller diameter hose and step down to the size I need. But that doesn’t change the fact that I may also need a smaller copper valve on the other end.

Works like a charm! We purchase 5 gallons of diesel fuel at a time, put the fuel container on the tractor (above the fuel intake) and siphon the needed fuel to top off the tank (we have three tractors, but rarely use more than 5 gallons in any one usage). This siphon system is quick, clean and efficient!

A really unique and amazing product. The hose is durable thick and feels well built. The inside diameter is abour an inch, and lets plenty of fuel through.I use it to fill up my boat and it works great! It does however take a little getting used to as far as starting the syphon. You sometimes need to jerk it up and dorn forcefully to start the syphon fast and clear any air in the whose. The mechanism is super simple, only being a brass fitting with a marble inside to greate a one way check valve. The cons are that i wish it was a little longer 15 feet would have been perfect. Anyway a great snd unique product.

Loved the way it works for refilling vehicles and generators using an old fuel tank that had a cracked nozzle.I tried it on some more viscous fluids like motor oil and it had an easier time getting started/primed than the smaller tubing versions.Understandably, they come rolled up and must be straightened out in a warm spot or the sun. The tubing is a little stiff even after a few weeks of being straight so it makes it a little unwieldy to use sometimes.
