Being totally honest, I have not tested them out and hope to never have too. I gave one to my son, who thought he'd never need one but we both feel safer knowing we have one if needed.

I have owned one of these devices for years and used it numerous times. Place near the window corner and push until the spring releases. It breaks the glass cleanly the first try, every time, completely shattering safety glass. It works on side-facing windows with or without tint.This is a terrific rescue tool for first responders or a life saving device for drivers. Based on my positive experiences I bought several more as gifts.I highly recommend this.

About 3 weeks ago I was one of the first on the scene for a multicar rollover accident. The driver of a van and his passenger were significantly injured. We were not sure if the rear of the van contained any passengers or important items. I took this small device and amazingly, with one easily performed discharge, the rear van window completely shattered allowing access to the back. I was impressed on how easy the device was to use and the amount of energy discharged on the window. It made me think how useful the device would be for having to escape from the inside of a stuck or submerged vehicle.I have not had the opportunity to use this on a seatbelt,but my daughter-in-law noted how well this worked on a thick bag of snack food she could not open and felt it would have done an excellent job on a seatbelt. Being an actual rocket scientist she described it in technical terms: "it cut like buttah"!!

I liked the idea of having a small escape tool rather than the larger, hammer-like ones availalbe, so decided to purchase this to keep in my car. Upon receipt, I immediately attached the keyrings to the tools and attempted to see how easily I could expose the blade to cut the seatbelt. Honestly, I couldn't even get the blade cover to move. I will admit I'm not the strongest person around, but if the purpose of this tool is for easy escape during an emergency? This wouldn't be of much use, since I couldn't even get the blade exposed in the calm of my own home while in perfect health, nevermind in a hypotheical panicked situation where I might also be injured. Larger, hammer-like escape tool for me it is.

Got these as Christmas gifts for family and friends. Fortunately no one has had to use them yet. Pressing one into a piece of wood makes a nice dent, so it seems like they'll work if/when the time comes.I suppose if you want to be sure you could test it on your irritating neighbor's car... JUST KIDDING, don't do that (test it on your boss' car instead).This is one of those devices you don't think (or at least hope) you'll ever need, but they're cheap enough that you should get one anyway. Because having one and not needing it is a lot better than needing one and not having it.

This tool is a must have for emergencies.It could save a life. The Resqme is reasonably priced and all car owners and passengers (adults only, never children) should keep one handy. Attach it to your keychain or just hang it on your RVM.

Items arrived quickly and I like they are easily visible in the bright blue color. There's no way for me to know if they will work should a need arise but they seem to be high quality and the metal punch works with a satisfying click when depressed. The retention clip that holds the item to the keys are sturdy and doesn't seem like they will fall off on their own but it's nice to know I can just yank them off if needed. Good piece of mind

Very happy with these. They were actually a little smaller than I expected, which is nice for a Keychain /purse item. They are very light too. The clip to cover the seatbelts knife is very secure, you have to use some strength to pull it. I like that it won't accidentally fall off during normal key handling. We 'tested ' them with some newspaper. They work as described. Push in and it 'punches' a small spike out with enough force to mark the newspaper roll. The spike immediately reset and was ready to try again. Glad to find a made in usa product like this!

I have one on every set of keys. They are quite small. The key chain part has NEVER come apart from the blue piece like other similar products. You really have to pull to disconnect the black piece and reveal the seat belt cutter. I have even given additional ones to friends so that when I am in their car I know we have it in case something goes wrong! I actually get asked what these little things are all the time when people see my keys. So I would recommend even for teenagers who don't drive, but still get in someone else's car. Just have them attach to a house key, pants loop, or purse. Always better to be prepared.**Do not push black end against skin (it hurts, friends have tried).... and do not push against a glass bottle (it will break) ... or any bottle (a hole will appear)**I also have Glow in the Dark LifeHammers in each car too!
