This device actually grabs a snake by the neck and holds it while you carry it away to release it. I was amazed by how easy it is to use. I have caught and released three snakes.

Not sure what some of these negative reviews are talking about. From box to use was two minutes. Worked perfect for both me and the snake. I was able to, humanely, grab it drop in a plastic container and drive it far away from my property. Recommend this to anyone with small to medium snake issue in their yard.

It’s a great tool in my arsenal against snakes and the “presents” my dog likes to bring me. I have never seen one in all my trips to the hardware store for shovels and other “snake” tools.I have a rescue dog that has 300 plus years of genetically breed hunter in her. Despite my best efforts to train her otherwise, if a creature moves, she goes after it.It is a terrible combination when you live on a lake with water moccasins.Each time she brings me a live water moccasin hanging out of her mouth, I wonder if I am going to be able to kill the snake before it bits her or bits me. It is a horrible feeling.I do take issue with their statement that 47 inches is a safe length between myself and the snake. The more distance the better as far as I am concerned. I would like about 20 or more feet...However, a tool that long probably would not work very effectively.This is one tool I hope I never have to use again. I hope its mere presence is insurance enough to never need it.But if needed, it is nice to know that it is there. Glad to have found it.With this tool, maybe even the snake can win. If I can grab it around the neck, I can remove it to a container safely for transport to the nature center. As it is now, I have to try to beat it to death before it can bite either the dog or me.This tool could be a game changer. However, I still hope I never have need of it again.It is well built and easy to use. It should last a lifetime. Let’s hope my lifetime does not include any more snakes.PS – I think this would have come in very handy this last spring for the possums I was “gifted” also.
