This is a constant temperature heating pad that can adjust the temperature value arbitrarily. It adopts Dual temperature protection with built-in control smart chip and independent adjustable temperature controller. Combined with carbon film heating material, this product have high safety performance and insulation effect. In addition, the external thermostatic switch can visually display the temperature of the heating pad surface and the working status of the heating pad under constant temperature control. It is often used for reptiles, small animals or gardening and other conditions that require constant temperature.

This heat mat has the sensor too close to the heat element- it barely heats up at all but the sensor thinks its plenty warm. Completely useless to heat even a small terrarium. I like the thermostat idea, just wish it actually worked.

I just installed this on my big terrarium.We have some Cope's Gray Treefrogs in it.It is big. It measures 36" tall x 24" wide x 18" deep.This species of treefrog doesn't really need a heat source, but isopods and springtails need warmer than our room temperature is. We keep the room temp at 65 degrees during the cooler months.I installed this in the lower left side of the terrarium.It has successfully raised the temperature about 7 to 8 degrees. I have the heater set at 85 degrees and the temp is currently 74 to 75 degrees. This is up from 67 to 68 degrees before the heater.The lighting in the terrarium doesn't create any heat at all.This was the safest way to add a little heat to this terrarium. It's working out just fine.I like the fact that the adhesive is good. I also like the fact that it doesn't use a remote probe. It wouldn't be helpful for my setup.This heater wouldn't be sufficient to heat this terrarium for certain reptiles, but for my needs, it is perfect.I recommend it.

Everything was great. Save for the backing. Instructions refereed to a removable adhesive backing. But found no indication of such a peel off backing. Ended up having to duct tape the thing to one end of my Giant Asian Centipede tank. Dos it even have a backing? And if so? Can somebody tell me one. Which side of the pad it is on? And two. How do I peel it off. There's no tab or anything. And the instructions say nothing about how to get it off. So I am knocking off a star for this.

I was looking for a heater for my beta tank that would not take up space inside the little tank. This is perfect. If my fish is cold he just cozy up to the warm glass at night.Temp is easy to set. Works great. Great value. Love the small size. Long cord reaches to the floor. Durable.

I like the fact that the temperature probe was built in so there's only one cord and it's all single piece, however the probe is too far away from the actual heating element... so you have to have the heating element up alot higher than what is projected under the surface area of where your reptile would actually be sitting. In other words, I had to have it set for 95° F in order for the surface temperature where my snake would be, to be at least 85° F.

This heater works very well on my he back of my cage for my crabs I have 2 heaters on my 30 gallon tank an it keeps it at the right temp would buy this product agian
