I've been using this for a couple of months and it's still working great. It has a dial to adjust the temperature, and it's completely flat so it sits under the tank nicely. It's large enough to heat a space for my bearded dragon, so it's ideal. You really don't need it to heat the whole bottom of your tank, just a spot, they will find it!

Could not have been anymore perfect. Needed a warming mat that wasnt bulky and resistant to moisture. The perforated mat is laminated in a hard yet flexible plastic sheet. The electrical connection to the mat is sealed well. The electrical wire is a decent length with a control panel 3/4 down the length of the cord. The controller has 7 temperature settings from 3 celsius to 25 celsius and a timer. This works amazingly well keeping germinating seeds at the perfect constant temperature.

This heat pad is a little bit awkward for out needs. The tank just barely fits on the shelf so there isn't any room on the sides for the big bulge where the power cord goes in. Because of this, we have to have it stick out the front. This does make it easy to see if it is warm. Often, it is barely noticeable that it is warm, even on high heat. I think it puts out enough heat for the toad in the tank to feel it when it burrows into the dirt. It's currently winter and the tank is in one of the colder rooms in the house but the toad still seems active so I think the pad is warm enough.

The PeSandy Reptile Heat Pad was easy to set up and fits perfectly in my tank. It provides consistent warmth, heating the floor nicely for my bearded dragon. The 7-button temperature adjustment allows for precise control, and I appreciate how well it works for keeping my pet comfortable.Overall, it’s a great heating pad that meets my needs, and I would recommend it to anyone with reptiles or small animals.

I got this to place under my Cubaris sp. isopods and only use the #1 setting. I will likely purchase a larger mat in the spring for another project. Received item fast and as described.

This heat pad is sufficient for fairly even temperatures in the low 80 degrees F. The presets on the digital controller do not produce temperatures true to what the manual states they should (they seem to run 10 degrees colder than the manual states), but setting number 4 is consistent enough at 74-81 degrees Fahrenheit that it works fine for a crested gecko to have a warmer area to digest. This pad does not have adhesive to stick to the bottom of a glass enclosure, so it will need to rest underneath or be taped to the side.

I ordered this heater for a grandchild who had a pet lizard. Unfortunately, the lizard escaped back into the wild.I am now using this reptile heater in the chicken house. I've set it on 90 degrees F, and it seems to stay right at 90 degrees. On cold nights, the chickens tend to huddle together on the roosts, and the huddle tends toward the three sides with heaters, and away from the more open side. The birds are happy, so I'm happy!Compared with poultry heaters, this reptile heater is priced very nicely, and performs just about as well.I'm giving PeSandy five stars for this one!

I ordered this because I paint a lot of models, and in winter months the cooler temperature can cause acrylic paint to clump up when it's airbrushed onto a surface, resulting in a rough or fluffy texture that isn't ideal. I thought if I were able to keep my paints at a stable temperature of roughly 20-22C I would be able to reduce this problem, so I ordered this product to see if it would be effective at keeping them warm while I go through my usual hobby workflow. The result is a resounding... maybe? It doesn't quite feel as warm as I was expecting, and the heat distribution across its surface is inconsistent, even with the smaller variant I ordered. The center often feels cooler than the edges of the heating element, and even at its highest setting it sort of just feels lukewarm. While keeping something lukewarm is indeed my goal, it feels like it struggles to conduct that heat into whatever happens to be touching it.There's also the matter of the setting on the power switch, which feels equally as inconsistent. The highest setting of seven feels like it gets cooler than the setting before it, and sometimes doesn't really feel like it's doing anything at all. While I don't have any lizards or heat-dependant animals of my own, I did experiment a little with some glass surfaces in a way to help me visualize whether or not it was having an effect. I get a lot of condensation on my windows in the winter, so after drying one off one day I adhered this device to a section on its pane and left it running to see if it would have an impact. The result was an area roughly half an inch around where it was positioned remaining dry, but the bigger picture remained more or less unchanged. While there are a number of warnings that state you shouldn't allow this to come into direct contact with your pet, I'm not really sure how much heat you should expect them to get if you don't. Maybe one of the larger formats would give you a better result.Overall, I'm not particularly fond of this product, but it at least does something. If nothing else, its simplicity helps make it seem quite durable.

I tested this so you know what's about to expect. The settings from 1 to 6 actually does heat, but still struggle despite having nothing on top. While the 7 is faulty and has significant power drop. You will never reach the advertised temperature, simply the small draft due to heating convection will keep this from the temperature aimed.

I got this to mount to the bottom of our glass gecko tank because that little girl loves the heat!First challenge I experienced is that this heating pad does not include anything with which to mount it. I ended up using a small command strip on the edges to mount it underneath the tank onto the glass. The heating pad did not generate the levels of heat that were advertiesed. Even at the highest heat setting, it only slightly warmed the section of the tank where it was placed. The size is perfect though, to be able to have a heated and unheated zone in the tank. The design is simple and easy to use.Unfortunately, we won't be able to use this heating pad as it doesn't generate enough heat.

Never thought I'd be using a reptile heating pad for sourdough, but here we are! After struggling to maintain consistent temperatures for my starter, I decided to try this heating pad as a DIY fermentation solution. The slim profile and precise temperature control make it perfect for this unconventional use.The pad itself is quite thin and has just enough flexibility to work with - though don't expect it to bend too much. What really shines is the temperature control system. The 7 different levels give you good precision (I typically use level 3-4 for sourdough, which keeps things around 75-78°F), and the timer function is super handy for overnight proofing. While it's obviously designed for terrariums (and comes with appropriate safety warnings about not putting animals directly on it), it works surprisingly well when properly set up under a glass container for fermentation. The heat distribution is even, and the digital controls are straightforward to use.One tip: since it's designed to heat through glass, make sure whatever container you're using has good thermal conductivity. I learned this the hard way trying to use it through a thick plastic container at first.Would I recommend it? For both conventional (reptile) and unconventional (bread) uses, yes - just make sure to follow the safety guidelines about heat-conductive materials and keep an eye on temperatures at first. The price point makes it a great alternative to pricier specialized fermentation equipment.
