The supposed temperature regulated shaft does not move regardless of temperature. These wax filled cylinders appear to be all made by the same company in China. This one and another that I tried from a different vendor both did not work. A gas filled cylinder is a much better choice. However, not available on Amazon.

Easy to install and is effective but needs to be protected from frost or dismantled during the very cold periods.

Overall, the Tellegloww Replacement Cylinder for Automatic Vent Opener worked as intended.I had automatic vent openers in my greenhouse and one of the cylinders finally gave out. These are usually very expensive so imagine my surprise when I found this one for under 20 bucks.It fits on my vent opener even though it's a bit longer than the original cylinder.I did have a problem with the installation though. The damn cylinder wouldn't budge at all. It was stuck. I had to throw it in a freezer and on a heat source when it finally moved. I wish it had come with instructions or tips on compressing it.Would buy again.
