The power cable is too short so it wont fit. The top one is my original for comparison. Dont be fooled by the battery model number being the same across generations (my tablet is a 2019 9th gen)

The 000187 has a short power cord, 2.4 cm. The 000220 has a 3.2 cm wire, needed for Fire HD 10. False advertising.

Purchased a replacement battery for my Kindle Fire. It was shipped promptly. Once installed, it worked perfectly. However, the tools included were useless. The flat tip of the plastic prying tool used to loosen and remove the back of the device wore down and snapped off before I was able to loosen even one side of the case! Very cheap plastic that was completely inadequate for the task. Forced to purchase a better quality prying tool in order to complete the job.

The battery is not real easy to replace because you have to pry apart the tablet. I would recommend watching the videos available before attempting to do this, but so far so good on the battery.

Purchased this as a replacement FOR a replacement battery that failed to work on arrival. Make SURE you match the product number on your original battery, eg: 58-000187 vs. the others. Unlike Neato vacuums, this does matter for these. The battery cable is plenty long enough, just make sure to connect the cable FIRST, before setting the battery into the device tray holder. They include a few strips of double sided sticky tape to seat the new battery, but geez - there was so much glue left over from the original battery - I swore I'd break it during both extractions. Booted immediately without turning it on, but let it charge for a few hours before use. If you are looking for a good kit for your first replacement, this is a good one. Watch a few videos before you try, because you don't want to scratch the front glass, AND you need to see the pry points (top corner by rear lens). Mine has a rubber gasket on that lens that did not want to stay in place during re-assembly, so be careful. AND cover the battery cable's tiny openings (when you attach it they face you) - with sticky tape to prevent an electric short. Looking forward to my books and cartoons again. Now, we'll just see if this battery matches the priors near 6 year life span.
