About this item

  • 【Multi-Input Efficiency Charging】 The Renogy DC to DC Charger with unique dual charging options. This multi-stage, multi-input battery charger can charge the house battery from a starter battery linked to the car alternator or by connecting solar panels directly to the unit. Both ways can be charged at the same time to minimize charging time. With up to 99% MPPT tracking efficiency and 94% convert efficiency, the smart charger can fully charge a 1kWh battery within 2 hrs with solar energy.
  • 【Soft Start Circuit Design】 The voltage at the input end of the 12v DC to DC charger will be rising gently, intending to avoid when the car alternator starts, the instantaneous overvoltage which may cause damage to the on-board battery charger or cause the starter battery to over-discharge and due to the vehicle can not start.
  • 【Ingenious Structure Ddesign】 Removable side covers avoid contact between product terminals and the human body during transportation and daily use, which results in electrostatic damage, ensuring product stability and safety. The all-in-one NEG- terminal with partition design integrates the terminals for solar panels, the array starter battery, and the house battery, avoiding misconnection and making the simple installation.
  • 【Comprehensive Security Assurance】 The Renogy 12v DC to DC Charger with MPPT is multi-certified to CE, FCC, and PoHs. This 50A high-quality battery charger has multiple intelligent protections including battery isolation, over-voltage protection, battery temperature protection, over-current protection, overheat protection, reverse current protection, solar panel and alternator reverse polarity protection, guaranteeing charging safety and protecting your SLD, Gel, AGM, Flooded, Lithium batteries.
  • 【Light & Small, Ready to be Set Up】With only 9.6in in length, 5.7in in height, and 3.13lbs in weight, the DC to DC On-Board Charger is ready to be installed and adapt to any tiny narrow installation space, resolving your concern from limited room in your vehicle.
  • 【Diversified Smart Monitoring】 The Renogy DC-DC Battery Charger uses the Modbus protocol and allows it to be compatible with various monitoring devices, including the RMS-DCDC monitoring screen, DC Home App, and Renogy One integrated screen. Managing and monitoring your energy easily and remotely in any scenario and situation.

This thing works great. It does everything it says it will and it takes away the complications. My issue was finding 13 different installation instructions concerning the order of connection. I finally found the video on their website and it makes it simple. They need a qr code for easy access to installation videos. Some of us are visual learners. 4 stars for the hassle of trying to find the video. The product gets 5 all day

I have a cargo trailer that I use for work with a 2000 watt inverter to run power tool chargers & lights in the trailer. I have a 200 watt solar array connected to the solar input as well as the vehicle smart alternator input. The (2) 100 Ah AGM batteries stay charged through this device to where I never have to plug in my trailer to the house to charge my batteries. What I like about this product is if it’s cloudy and I’m using power then the vehicle will charge the batteries as I’m driving from job to job or I can start the truck for a few minutes and get a charge. This device also prevents voltage feeding back to the vehicle from my trailer batteries as it would if it were connected straight to the battery output from the truck. It also prevents overcharging of the batteries, extending the life. Lastly, the ability to change battery types on this device makes it great to use for different battery chemical types. The price is a little high but it does exactly what I need in just one device.

This is the correct way to connect an off grid house battery to the vehicle charging system and solar input! Provides several safety features and can be monitored with the data screen. Can be used with lead acid, AGM and Lithium batteries!

This charge controller has been the perfect addition to my truck camper. I have 400w of solar going into the charger and it keeps my 200ah’s of lithium topped off daily. I’ve never seen it below 84% running our fridge and fans all night. In just a few hours of sun the battery’s are full once again. I planned on hooking up the alternator charging as well but at this point it has not been needed! It’s a very high quality unit and when paired with the bt-2 Bluetooth module it’s very easy to keep an eye on your power usage.

This is the most compact and easiest DC-to-DC charger and Solar regulator I have found. I added the BT-2 Blue tooth module and can monitor and control its functionality via my smart phone. I was an each install in my motorhome and works flawlesly.

Device stopped charging house battery suddenly. Device is less than a year old and still under warranty, but Renogy has said they've "changed their terms with Amazon" and are no longer providing support for devices purchased from Amazon. This is nowhere in their warranty policy or documentation. When I asked them to provide this documentation, they said they are "still working on it" and could not provide it to me. Renogy is refusing to acknowledge the terms of their own warranty and is saying you must work with Amazon for any products purchased from Amazon, which doesn't align with Amazon's own process for products purchased more than 30 days ago. So you're left in limbo. I would not order this. In the meantime, I have a non-working product with no support.

I've had this wired up in my vehicle for a few months and it's doing a great job. I've regularly seen it pushing over 40A through the battery. 45 minutes driving a day is enough to keep my fridge running 24/7. Knowing how fast I can charge the battery I wish I'd bought a smaller one!

Installed in a bus conversion to take advantage of the alternator charging my LiFePo4 batteries when the engine is running and being able to trickle charge the starter batteries while parked. Seamless installation, robust connectors and after I ordered and installed the BT-2 hardware, the app provides all the pertinent information in real time. Time will determine the durability of the device, but it's working great thus far. Cheers!

This is a really simple system to hook up. I recommend getting either a bus bar or distribution block for the ground at the very least. I'll be putting a positive distribution block in also. You will also need a second inline fuse for the alternator input. It does come with one 60-amp ANL, but the manual recommends one for both solar input and alternator. Also, in line fuse for your solar panels at the connection. It's redundant but a lot cheaper to replace a fuse than cable, panels or batteries. I haven't had a chance to get my solar panels hooked up, but I have the DCDC charging set up. It works perfectly fine. I'm running a 300-amp alt to a battery isolator for my auxiliary battery bank for my offroad lighting and winch. From that point (for now) I hooked up 4AWG battery cables with jumper cable alligator clips, to an Anderson plug that runs into my cargo trailer conversion. Right now, I'm running 300 ah bank, with a 3500 watt inverter and it's being charged flawlessly when running my truck. When the extra battery cable shows up I'll run a more permanent setup from the starter battery rather than the auxiliary, which I think will shorten charge time drastically since it will be more direct.
