This is an interesting RC vehicle. It has a lot of nice touches but it isn't clear who should use/play with it.The manual states that the tank is not to be operated on sand, mud, grass, dirt, carpet, etc. The concern seems to be getting stuff in the tracks. The Amazon ad, on the other hand, shows it on all kinds of outdoor surfaces - rocks, short grass, leaves, etc. Which is right?Some things we have noticed about the tank include the following:The tank comes with two batteries and they seem to last a long time. We've only had to use one so far. It is tricky to open the battery compartment door. You need two hands and it is easiest to lay the tank upside down to do so. Unfortunately, there are a number of things on the top of the tank (figure, baskets, gun, etc.) that could be damaged if the tank is upside down. So, it is tricky and a little annoying. There is plenty of room in the battery compartment, however. This is nice since many RC vehicles seem to provide only the absolute minimum space for their battery.The tank is not particularly fast but is pretty maneuverable. All motion is controlled by the left stick on the controller. It is easy to let your thumb drift from a straight ahead position. Then you find the tank curving a bit. It will easily drive over 2x4's and other obstacles of similar size.The commander figure (actually just half a figure!) fits loosely on the mounting peg. He bounces around a lot.We tried the tank in tall grass. It quickly threw a tread. It was a little challenging to get it back on as there doesn't seem to be a way to expose all the wheels on the sides of the tank.You can turn the sound effects ON or OFF. When ON, the tank makes the sound of a diesel starting up and running. It is pretty loud indoors. When the tank is in motion, it seems to add creaking sounds that would normally come from the track. That's a nice bit of added realism.The tank will shoot tiny little Airsoft BB's from the cannon. You load them into a little hopper at the front of the turret. There is an Enable switch for the cannon on top of the turret; this has to be on for it to shoot. You actually shoot using a button on the controller. When you press the fire button, you can hear a spring mechanism cock just before the BB is released. The tank adds in a "boom" sound if the sound effects are turned on. It also makes the tank kick back a little bit. That's a nice touch.The manual recommends wearing safety goggles or glasses when firing the cannon. That seems like a good idea. It can shoot the BBs maybe 30 feet out or so. While the angle of elevation is not great, the BBs can bounce off of whatever you shoot at.So, the question is - who is this tank for? Is it for young (i.e., around 8 years old) kids? Since all you can *really* do with it is drive it around and shoot things (if not disabled because, hey, young kids), it seems like it isn't much fun. That is especially so if you don't drive it on dirt, rocks, sand, etc.Is it for adults? It is nicely detailed and has some nice realism touches that wouldn't be appreciated by kids. Is there a need for an adult toy like this?We are still figuring it out.

This tank has some really nice scale detail, and is pretty fun. The first one I ordered had a radio and tank binding issue, and wouldn't stay connected, but the seller replaced the item and the new one works great. One of the LED lights are not working, but it's not a big issue. The stick radio it comes with is intuitive and works pretty nice. It's got some cool features and sound as well. My kid really enjoys the feature where you can shoot the little BB pellets. I have to caution you though! It shoots those pellets pretty strong! Make sure your kid plays safely and does not aim the turret at people and especially keep themselves safe. I'd recommend this for older kids only. If getting it for younger kids, definitely do not let them use the BB pellet feature.

This is a really cool tank. My son and I both love it. What we don't love is how sometimes it's tough to maneuver. We thought being trax it would be more capable but it would get stuck on some tall grass and loose dirt. The details are great and the fact that it can shoot little airsoft bb's. There are cool tank sound effects and plenty of movement. Overall I'd recommend just mind your terrain.
