I really wish this would have worked for my Turkish doumbek. It appears like it will when assembling it but the drum head is a bit too deep for that particular drum type.

The REMO Skyndeep heads are good synthetic heads, but the one I received was 8.5" inside diameter, not the 8" in the listing. Useless for the drum I bought it for. Not sure how to rate this since I know from previous experience it's a good head, but if the listing doesn't match the item, it's effectively junk, so am giving it 1 star.

This is the second head of this type I have purchased. The sound is crisp and responsive. For a synthetic head, it's outstanding. I get the sound I want without worrying about changes in head tension because of variable humidity.

Got an 8" doumbek from Meinl that had the body style and look that I wanted, and a Meinl head.The tone was terrible, atrocious, and awful, and I considered sending the drum back.Instead I replaced the Meinl head (which was chintzy and thin) with this head. What a difference!Now it sounds the way it should - deep bass, clear ringing high tones, and a good range in between.
