Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW-79-C standard for operating temperature (155°C/311°F) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified Polyurethane, and protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting.

I had ordered a different spool from another company prior, and I didn't have enough wire for my overwound P90. I ordered this one shortly after and now, I have so much wire that I could make new pickups for all my guitars with just one spool.

This wire is perfect for winding guitar pickups. I will definitely be ordering more in a bigger quantity.

Easier to work with than I thought. Perfect for making small inductors.

This product is exactly as described, nothing more nothing less. Be careful though, as the wire is as thin as a hair maybe thinner! For coil purposes be warned that this wire does have a pretty high resistance as compared to normal wires, and I am talking about 5 Ohms per meter! I used this for an inductor and I didn't take this into consideration and it ended up biting me in the butt as the resistance was more than I could use for my project. Nothing wrong with the wire though. Just take my warning: DO THE CALCULATIONS BEFORE YOU BUY. Thats all.

If you need really thin magnet wire for a low power application, this works. I'm using it in model railroading to run two wires down a hole that is less that 1/8th of an inch in diameter, and it worked perfectly.

The wire is fine, but it is very thin. You've got to be extra careful when winding magnets and soldering.

Good wire. Have bought several reels from this company. Although it is very thin it is durable. There is no chemical I've discovered that can take off the enamel, so you don't have to worry about shorts. (Contacted the company; they recommend fine sandpaper for barring wire.) The enamel is also supposed to melt under solder gun heat, but I've experienced it failing to do so, so I always sand prior to soldering.

Bought this to make a complete different type of pickup for an electric guitar. Design is not the same as a regular pickupThis product came in on time and came in a very nicely packaged box with heavy protection inside the box. This is the wire you need for guitar pickups ( standard .26 width)You can use other gauges such as 43 or 44 but that requires different turns so you will have a small roll on the guitar pickup this is why people have problems with different gauges as the thickness will fool your eyes into OVER Turnage as I call it.Excellent wire, the enamel is quite thick so this is good quality made wire.''Overall highly recommended. Once the tests go good I will purchase the bigger bobbin ( 50,000 feet)
