Magnet wire is copper wire with a thin layer of insulation, and is used in a variety of applications including transformers, wound coils, motors, solenoids, and instruments. Raw copper is drawn to meet specific Size requirements based on the National electrical manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA mw-80-c standard for operating temperature (155°c/311°f) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified polyurethane with a polyimide overcoat, and protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting.

Good quality magnet wire with reliable insulation. It comes wound on a bobbin that may be mounted on a spindle for easy drawing of the wire.I use it to wind coils for my SW radios and I find this product to be very good.

I purchased this for a large Tesla coil, however it is a bit big in diameter for the size I made... 3"x24"but the wire itself is great and the coating is thick so scrape it off real good !Bob...

Works great. I was really using it for a costume project, so I cannot totally verify the electrical properties. Although I did use some to wire a couple of the LEDs where the space was very tight and couldn't use insulated wire. Everything is working good for now, no shorts where wires are crossing and touching. In the photo, ignore the white build-up on the wire coils, that is from super glue used to hold the coils tight together. It was very humid and it cured too fast. The wire is clean and shiny. No snags in the spool so far, it has unwound nicely.

its pretty good wire, im using it for my invention.....however this is far short of the listed 803'. To be more specific im making 7 turns of cu wire with 1 turn being a diameter of 22.53". i need 56 coils of wire total so a length of 735.98 ft of cu wire is needed. this product says its 803' long and i only made 26 coils. thats less than half of what i needed and im honestly mad about this. I need this wire to finish my invention but trust me i will not buy from this supplier unless they get there length right. FOR SMALL THINGS THIS WIRE WILL LAST YOU A YEAR, FOR MY APPLICATION THIS WILL LAST ME TWO WEEKS IF I DONT PROCRASTINATE ON MAKING ALL THOSE COILS. Quality is good, for me its the quantity that breaks the deal. Not as advertised.

If you're looking for a spool of 24AWG, look no further! This is a good price and a good value for the amount of feet you're getting. Good quality wire and very happy with the purchase. Will order again in the future!

You know what?Mag Wire is copper wire with some kind of lacquer coating (to prevent shorting). This stuff is not high-tech, and it works just fine, as one would expect it should. I don't think there's anything better for my uses, but I feel really stupid evaluating wire. I mean, how could you screw up the manufacture of wire? Well yeah, you could screw up the lacquer insulation, but beyond that . . .
