Reflectix is a 5/16-Inch thick, seven layer, reflective insulation which is available in rolls of various widths and lengths. It is used extensively in both specialty and standard construction projects. Two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97-Percent of radiant heat. Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubbles resist conductive heat flow, while a center layer of polyethylene gives Reflectix high reliability and strength.

Good quality, highly reflective product. I bought this 24"x25' roll to keep the sun out of my standard wheelbase Chevy Express passenger van. I was able to cover all the windows from the driver's side, down the side, around the back and back up to the passenger side window, with about 2 feet left over. I was impressed with the quality of the mylar, or aluminum layers, they seem to be more heavy duty than the other (not made in the USA) products I have tried in the past. It was easy to cut and fit with an Exacto knife in on hand while the other held the Reflectix in place. I did cover the cut edges with silver duct tape, it fit in place just under the plastic window trim and has stayed in place while driving around. I am very pleased with the temperature control provided by this insulation/radiant barrier. This product, at the time of this posting, is still made in the USA.

If you are like me, and you have to work late night hours, and go to sleep in the early afternoon, this is a big help in conjunction with blackout curtains in effort to darken your room. You may need to cut and tape together separate pieces in order to fit the window as intended/desired. I use this with command picture hanging strips to secure it in place but also make it easy to move if I want daylight or fresh air through my window.

Used this to insulate feral cat house and shelter. Works well. The shelter gets a lot of snow on it and no melting with this radiant barrier installed underneath the roof.

Our garage door faces west, with temperatures at 130 degrees on the outside and 120 inside. I used the foil to help reduce heat and so far, has worked very well. Chose this product over foam because foam would add 35 pounds do the weight of the door, meaning have to reset the tension of the springs. This product added less than 10 pounds

Easy to cut with scissors and work with could be a little thicker. I'm sure it will help add some insulation

I was a bit skeptical at first. However, if one has ever used a window car shade - it does in fact work at keeping the inside of the car a bit cooler. I went into this project with the mentality of a sunshade for the garage. I looked up various materials to insulate the inside of my garage door, here in Texas. I considered weight which would be added to my garage door and price. I chose this product due to it's weight, price and name recognition. So, I took measurements of the garage panels which would be covered with this material. I used the appropriate adhesive / tape and began the work. I cut the pieces just slightly longer to allow pockets to be formed between the garage door panel and the insulation, which allows air circulation between the panel and the material. I didn't want the material to be immediately against the panel which may cause it to absorb heat and then just become a conductor of heat.It did not take long and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the results. At first I thought the temperature drop was just in my mind. I bought a lazer thermometer and took measurements several different days. The results were quite the same. The inside of the garage was at least 10 degrees cooler and at times a bit more.An added bonus is the material also has served as a sound barrier. Less noise comes in through the garage door. I can still hear outside noise, but it is quieter. I recommend this product if you are considering insulating your garage door. It worked wonders for me here in Texas.
