I can't believe I paid what I did for a thin piece of metal with 2 holes in it. I could have just fabbed one myself but it is what it is. My question is, why does this product even exist? If hitch manufacturers would actually stick to tolerances, no shimming would be necessary

These are just what the doctor ordered! I wish they were just a hair thinner. Most heads you will bend these pieces trying to get them in. But other than that it's a must buy.

This shim worked perfect for my hitch. It was the perfect width and thickness. I wouldn’t change a thing. Except the price… ;)

I had debated whether or not if I should purchase 2 instead of only one, because there was what I felt a great deal of "slop" between the hitch head and the shank. One was more than enough; as a matter of fact, I had to drive the single shim in with hammer (and blunt screwdriver) for the last 1/3 of the distance down to the bottom hole. It's now as solid as a rock.

This product works fine, but it is NOT a shim “kit”. It is a single shim in a bag, not a kit.
