Like other reviews say, this front mount hitch is fantastic. It not only fits perfectly, it is simple to install. From start to finish, it took me 2.5 hours to complete, working alone. Took a warm up break of 20 minutes midway. The keys are;Spray your tow hook bolts with penetrating oil a couple days ahead of install.Have a floor jack available.Lay cardboard down on the cement floor...it was 25 F when I did mine today (no heat garage). After measuring twice, cut a 3 inch x 3 inch square hole into your air dam. Center it directly on the midline, leaving 3/4 inch at the bottom. I did mine without removing the air dam (way less work).Using the floor jack, dry fit the hitch to the frame and check to see if trimming is needed. Once happy, then place hitch aside to feed bolts into place.Small fingers is definitely a benefit here. It takes some effort but you'll get em.I used a telescoping magnet to help me guide them into place.I started with the rear (short) bolt, then went forward to place the tow hook bolts (long) next.Finish both sides and then once again lift the hitch into place using the floor jack.As you are adjusting upward, watch all the bolt placements...they want to move around and up into the frame. Patience and small adjustments gets you there.I put washers and nuts on each rear bolt first then worked forward. The tow hook holes are a tight fit but you'll get em.Snug everything tight, and bingo. All the hardware is perfect. The best thing (I didn't check until after install) is that the hitch pin hole is very accessible in front of the air dam.If you've always wanted a front hitch for your truck this one is great. I chose it over Curt because it sits closer (higher) to the frame and doesn't affect ground clearance. Curt sits at least a couple inches lower. The look and fit of the Reese appears custom.Well designed and stout.

used to have one on a big k5 blazer and found it to be super handy so put one on front of 1999 4door tahoe i use for knock around stuff. The great thing about using for front winch mount is removable cradle so you can put on only when you need to use it other wise use a slide in it's great moving around my lawn trailers and boat and also use a removable shackle for pulling things. Super easy to mount and glad they send wire guides for bolt holders there was already lost nuts upon mounting from where someone had tried or did before. The lower plastic valance on mine was already taken off and looks good that way but you could trim around if still on. Can't beat price, fit, finish and usefulness.

Worked great mounting my new 11,000 lb winch on my 1998 Chevy Cheyenne 2500 4x4 work truck. I purchased a receiver winch mount adapter seperately, and installed the front receiver . Had to use different bolts where the front bolts on each side of the receiver mounts to the truck, other than that it was pretty simple for one person if you can lift 30-40 lbs with one arm you will not need a helper or special tools. If you can not lift that small amount of weight id reccomend a helper or a jack to assist you. I was dissapointed to see it's made in Mexico , and not America. But everything we buy now days like this sadly just about comes from some other Country , i wish that was different and we could support our country . Some of the narliest welds I've ever seen. But it has with stood cutting and pulling a 24" oak tree over with snatch block. With stood winching truck and trailer loaded with lumber up hill out of the mud. With stood many other projects with the winch from fencing projects and more. I did not want to spend the money on this truck for a winch bumper and found this front receiver mount , I am happy with the purchase and will be buying another for my 2001 f350 powerstroke crew cab 4x4 super duty work truck for the same reason. Hope this helps and happy installing.

Came with everything I needed for my 1998 GMC K1500. 15 minutes to install this unit. I already had my truck on jack stands because I replaced the idler arm and pitman arm. To mount this I pulled off my tow hooks, used my finger to pull out the tow hook mounting plates in the frame, used the supplied fish wire the pull in the back bolt and its square support on each side, slid the tow hook mounting plates back in the frame on each side, bolted up one side slightly, lifted the other side to marked where I needed to make my cuts, removed the receiver mount, grabbed my dremel cutter and made the cuts on the lower cowling, lifted the mount back up and started the back bolt on each side of the mount, attached each front hook with the front bolt on each side, installed the back hook bolt on each side, made sure everything was aligned , and tightened all the bolts. It takes a little thought to do this type of work. You can fight it awkwardly or use some wire, another person, a small stool,or some other object help you hold this up. Then you wont knock the bolts into the frame trying to install it and teach the neighbor kids words their parents wont appreciate. It really is quite sturdy and easy to install. I got it for a winch mount but I also have a step that inserts into the receiver and a hitch ball to push my trailer into tight spots. So I hope to get a lot of use out of it.The packaging was bubble wrap. That means it may get scuffed or damaged during delivery or shipping. If you are looking for a mount for your $300000 show truck that you drive to the beauty parlor once a week you might be disappointed.

I bought this fully expecting to beef it up as I am using it to hold a 9000lb wench for skidding logs. No reinforcement needed! This thing is built! Made in Mexico but very heavy duty. 4 stars because it needs to be 2 12 to 3 inches longer to be able to slide a wench cradle into the reciever. Had to buy an extension. Easy install and lined up perfectly.
