This is not made of copper or even with an appreciable % of copper. If you remove the fittings and look inside you'll see the silvery-grey color of zinc. Scratch it there and you'll see the soft, silvery metal exposed. The setscrews are magnetic steel, not copper.Any words about a copper layer are nonsense. Inside the wire openings there's only a hint of the gold color hiding the grey zinc. Your wires connect to zinc.I measured the density 3 times 4.8, 5.0 and 4.9. So around 4.9 but the density of copper is close to 9g/cc.An identical unit is sold on a Chinese website and sellers there identify it as "Zinc". Zinc has a density of 7.1g/cc, so it's a zinc alloy, most of which have density around 6.5. It's probably ZN-27 which is zinc + a bunch of aluminum which has a density of 4.9g/cc.Why should you care?1) ZN-27 is only 30% as conductive as copper. Pushing amps through it, you'll lose some as heat.2) low melting point. Zinc alloys aren't recommended for use as bus bars because if a high temperature event begins due to a weak connection, the bar could melt causing additional circuits to short. ZN-27 starts melting at 380C and is fully liquid at 480C. Copper melts at 1080C. Aluminum at 645C

I built a dual battery system into my truck for my 12v heavy duty compressor kit so i can always air my my tires or some elses anywhere i go and for my pure sine inverter system so I can have AC house power anywhere I go. I needed a fuse block for safety redundancy and this one seems to work very well and seems of fairly good quality for the price. My only complaint is that the 4 bottom blocks that the fuses screw too, they spin fairly easy so when you're tightening the Allen wrench heads, the blocks tend to easily spin enough to where they almost touch each other. You can adjust them back to away from each other fairly easily but I would like if they were glued in place on the plastic bottom.
