Works better than the other grills I have used. Tons of room and neat features. If you don’t want the upper rack in while cooking there’s a spot on the back for you to hang it so it’s safe and out of the way. Wifi works well. 14 hour brisket cook and the temperature and time alarms worked flawlessly. The massive hopper makes long cooks in cold weather a breeze.

Let’s be real. This grill is built like a tank!!! It will be able to handle just about any family cooking, or light commercial use. Fairly intuitive controls, and a simple menu, make this grill very easy to operate. The only complaints about this fantastic piece of equipment are: 1. There are lots of sharp edges on the machined metal (mostly on interior surfaces) 2. The temperature probes appear to be slightly inaccurate (even after calibration). That being said, I would highly recommend this grill for anyone looking to smoke food!

For as much money as you spend, you think they would give you a set of assembly instructions, but they don't. You have to go to their site, navigate the page of manuals till you find the one for your grill, then there is only an instalation video. Which is the worst. Between every step I have to pick up my phone and unlock it, and fidget with a video, looking back on a step is a pain. It barley cost anything to print instructions and can't do that. Also there are no extra screws. One broke off when installing the bottom shelf, so no I have to go buy a single screw to finish the job. Actually considering returning it and buying something else

This review is actually for the Recteq 1250. Which it’s not available anymore. It came out in 2021. I think and is no longer available. The construction of this grill is really good. The only bad thing I don’t like is the controller. It does not hold temperature.at higher temps. I have images. I will show the setpoint at 500° from start up without opening the lid. It overshoots by about 50° and like I said that’s with the lid. Not being opened at all at lower temperatures 225 to about 300. It seems to be fine But for a PID controller. it should hold even at 500°. I really hate to put this under the XL 1400 but if nothing‘s really changed and the controller then I wouldn’t be surprised. If this one does the same thing. This is pretty sad. I will not get a recteq again
