My 10 year old RV with a Progressive Dynamics converter did not have the ability to properly charge LiFePO4 batteries, so when I switched over from lead-acid batteries, I replaced the old converter with this one. The installation was straight-forward. This unit is longer than the old one, but there was room in the compartment for it. I have the converter set for 14.6 volts for the LiFePO4 batteries.

Easy to install. Replaced for smart charge and LiFePo4 function. Old unit was a basic charge. Contact with RecPro for additional charging information was quick and informative. Unit just installed and functioning okay. Old unit had one sideways blade on plug that plugged into the RV main electric panel. My panel allowed for either/or when plugging this recpro unit into the panel back plug for converter marked existing breaker. Thanks RecPro.

The one that came with my new now 2 years old trailer was acting up. Guess I'm glad it did because this one is a much better convertor. Has 4 stage charging and a light indicator. Red keep it plugged in to shore power when it turns green , batteries are fully charged. It has a slight hum to let you know it is working. Seems well made. Came with a plug which I had to remove to wire it to the hot and ground connectors to the trailer.

Not what I expected. This charger is cheaply made and failed after only 6 months. I tried to return the item and was past of by a person from Recpro. The company that sells this item. Do not waste your money on this product.Completely disappointed.

My 2000W pure sinewave inverter draws 240amps DC to make 15Amps AC at 120V. This will provide most of my power needs. I have 4 agm 100Ah batteries that would drain in 2 hours with 240Amp draw. This way the batteries can cover any overdraw, and elsewise be charged by shore power or generator if needed or depleted. I won't have to idle the DD15 engine unless there's no other choice. My agm batteries require a minimum charge voltage of 14.2 volts, which this unit is capable of. When I first hooked it up and connected my voltmeter, it registered 14.22 volts.Using 0 gage wire from the batteries and 4 gauge from the distribution blocks.

(Edited 10-30-24, I finally reached the company by sending a message though the Recpro website. It took 6 days of back and forth but they refunded my purchase price in the end. I'm glad I checked the output voltage and noticed it was not dropping below 14.5 volts. I know my battery's took a hit but lets hope it not too bad.) I'm been an RV'er for over 55 years and have owned and maintained my own RV's for almost that long. I also bought and replaced countless converters in those RV and friends units. This unit was installed three months ago and never has dropped below 14.2 volts. When you use the RV and power is being consumed it runs up to 14.6 volts and stays there for many hours if not days. There is NO 4 way "Smart" charging mode!! If your read the product description carefully you can see there is a contradiction in that "fixed" voltage and 4 way both are listed with no way to change modes. I admit that I usually don't keep an eye on converter voltage as I wouldn't think it necessary, however I got suspicious of this 65 amp charger and started monitoring it closely to find that it will indeed KILL your battery's at this constant rate of charge. Hours spent on hold with Recpro where never answered and emails not replied to. I think its safe to assume there will be no warranty. Great price for something that costs you a bundle more in battery replacement. If all the brands I have used,, this is the worse. I hope someone sees this before buying but I don't think many look to the one star reviews. Thanks DS

Another Update: I called RecPro (with low hopes) and told them about the fire and they were super concerned about my wellbeing and property. They asked me to send back the burnt up unit so they can investigate what happened and put in an order to send me another unit! I just randomly got a refunded on my order without ever asking! I think I just got a defective unit which happens from time to time, but I sincerely believe this is a good company with great people that stand by their products. Despite the incident, I'd buy from RecPro again. Things happen, but they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied... and I am.3 Month Update: Almost caught my camper on fire while in the mountains. Had to use the fire extinguisher to put it out.Original review:So I connected 2 mostly dead 100Ah LiFePo4 batteries to the 125 amp version and it's actually pulled 1920 watts from my 120v outlet. The fan was humming loudly and the light on the converter was red, but it charged the batteries very very quickly (yes this is hard on the batteries but I wanted to know if it was possible). The charge voltage on the converter is set to 14.6 but the voltage is only reading 13.8 when I checked while charging. I suspect this will go up as the batteries become more charged. I don't think this is a big deal, but worth me mentioning. Once the batteries reached around 95% (best guess) it dropped into boost mode and was only pulling around 1000 watts. After another 20 minutes the light flipped green and charger stopped pulling watts except for it's baseline draw (about 11 watts). Once the batteries became fully charged it looks to have stopped altogether. I'm more than impressed with this thing and if holds out it's going to be the perfect battery charger. I plan on using it to charge up my set of 4 100Ah LiFePo4 batteries in my RV. I'll provide an update when and if it dies. So far tho, I'm impressed!
