Came nicely packaged and is a good quality felt mat. Good for any turntable using the same thickness mat. Can also be used as a primary mat on vacuum record cleaners such as the VPI 16.5.

I use this on a Techics SL-1200 MK2 without the original turntable mat. There was a slight change in height that was easily corrected by the turntable's height adjustment.For me, there didn't seem to be much change in the sound with this felt TT mat installed. If anything, it made the high treble slightly less splashy. Also, the turntable was less affected by footfall (hearing people walk around through the interaction/vibration between footfall and the turntable).For the present price, it's a cheap tweak, if you think your TT could sound better. Experiment and find out, as this turntable pad is inexpensive.

When placed on my Dual 1229, the thickness of the mat made it impossible to use a turntable weight. It also changes the angle of the stylus in the record groove. It’s too thick.

My direct drive turntable has several homebrew modifications — spring suspension base mounts and modified platter covering (a layer of tiny bubble wrap overlaid with felt). I can turn volume up to painful levels without low frequency feedback even though an SVS SB-4000 is only two feet away! The weight adds additional acoustic isolation by suppressing resonance of the record itself.

I tried several different configurations with my dual 606 turntable. I ended up putting the felt pad on first and then the original rubber pad on top of it, that came with the turntable. This does change the vertical tracking angle a slight bit but for me it had no noticeable difference in audio quality and tracking still seemed to be fine. Every turntable is different. Your results may vary. One thing I did notice is that by placing it under the original mat instead of using it as the only mat or putting it on top of the original mat it helped eliminate vibration and feedback and rumble the best. So for me the best combination was the new mat first, then the old mat on top.
