We were part of Helene and our pull start broke! No one around town had one so we checked out what Amazon had! Got part today easy to put on and worked great! Chain saw started everytime! Very happy!

Bought this for my rancher 450. It doesn't fit perfectly, but I didn't have to cut or trim to make it work. So far it works great. I don't know how long it'll last, but if I have to replace it once a year I'm OK with that. Honestly the original only lasted me a couple of winters before giving me problems either so it wasn't worth the price to buy the OE replacement.

The only positive comment I can make is it fit my saw. However, I had multiple problems with it immediately after I began using it. First, the starter rope came out after 8 or 9 pulls. When I disassembled it hoping that the knot simply wasn't big enough, I found that the plastic part it wraps around, which engages the flywheel. has a small notch in it. That notch is there to grab the flywheel. I compared it to the original one and found that after the few pulls I made the notch was no longer square. It had rounded over and no longer was able to do the job. The manufacture's original part is slightly thicker and overall more solid. It also has a built in spring (not the recoil spring) which dampens the final part of the pull when or if you reach the end of the cord. This product does not have such a spring and it is thinner plastic. If I hadn't been able to salvage the old original part, I would have been stuck at that point with a 70' oak tree lying on the ground. I combined the new and the old parts and went back to work. Unfortunately this didn't last very as the small screws which were supposed to hold the recoil spring in place came loose. Note - I didn't touch them when I made the first repair. I took the starter cover off again and found that the screws had loosened and would not retighten. I then had to drill the cover to put in bolts to hold the recoil spring in place so that I could complete the job. The manufacture's approved replacement part is ridiculously overpriced but this cheap replacement is - in my opinion - exactly that - CHEAP. Cheap price and cheaply made.

It fits the saw for sure but it’s a little hard to pull and you pull about a 3rd of the cord out before it start to turn the compression

It broke the first day. It doesn’t fit properly. The pull cord knot came out of the plastic guide because the knot wasn’t large enough. When I attempted to replace the cord, it became clear that the inner spring was dislodged from the pulley that guides the pull cord as well. Even if I get the pulley back on the spring correctly, the spring just slips out on the first pull. Better to burn your money. At least you know the outcome.
