I bought this pack, along with the 20 pack, which included the timer and dimming function. I bought extra in case they burn out or the supplier goes belly up. I used a 1 inch drill bit and they fit perfectly.

I ordered these for my daughter's home and didn't realize that they weren't solar lights and would need to be installed. She needed to have the decking replaced first before attempting this project and plans to get these done before the fall sets in. Her backyard stays very dark and is surrounded with trees and noticed that even the dog was getting uncomfortable going out at night. We have checked out everything about these lights and this definitely was a great investment because of the amount of lights that came in this set. Installation turned out to be easier than I anticipated and have really brought a great amount of lighting in the backyard and are working perfectly. Glad we decided to go with these instead of ordering the solar lights. Highly recommend

As a custom home builder, we use these to mount in the soffit to shine light down our front columns. They are easy to install and look great. We have been using these for years and have never had any of them go out on us.

I was really surprised with how bright these were. They're about the size of a US quarter, but they're really bright. Installation is pretty easy. The only issue I have is that they're designed so that they're tethered to the same power cable - so only so much wire between lights - and the entire set is plugged, not like other low-voltage exterior lighting that connects to a transformer. I didn't end up using them outside as had originally planned because of this. With it being plugged, the set needs an outlet (preferably a switched outlet) for what I'd want. But overall, it's a nice little set of small, really bright lights.

The ac adapter worked 1 day and quit. Used lights in new deck and looked great. Bought a second set even for the deck stairs. The ac power adapter of the 1st set quit working after 3 months. I replaced it with the power adapter from the 2nd set and that one failed after 1 day. The adapter is covered and secured under the stairs to the deck in a water proof “shelf” I built specifically for the adapter so that it would be out of the elements. The lowest temperature it has gotten since original install was 35 degrees. The low the night the 2nd stopped working was 42. Lights look and work great, ac adapter absolute garbage.

Works as advertised, not as bright as I had hoped but still a decent amount of light output, overall very satisfied with the quality and design. Made to withstand the outdoor elements.

Outdoor lighting can really take a deck to the next level, but a lot of the options out there are really pricey! These little flush mount lights are really quite economical compared to many of the competing products. They're bright, super energy efficient, and really easy to wire up. Just drill the mounting holes (a 1" hole looks to be the perfect size to fit these lights into), pop in the light and connect the wires that link the lights to each other and to the LED driver/power supply. Then plug the power supply into an outlet. Of course, this assumes that you have a power outlet near where you want to install the lights (this has about a 6' cord from the power supply). And that power outlet will need to be connected to a switch or you'll need to come up with your own solution to either turn the lights on/off according to a schedule or add some sort of darkness sensor, since it would sort of look weird to have these on in the middle of the day.Are they the most durable option out there? Only time will tell, but at this price point, you can't expect too much; they're not super heavy duty, but they look to be well-sealed against the elements. If I had to critique, I'd say that the lights maybe are even a little too bright, depending on where you plan on using them. Staring straight into the light (like you would if you mount them in stair risers and you're walking up the stairs), they are definitely bright. A dimmer option or a little bit of a glare shield would be a nice option. They aren't sold as dimmable, but I may experiment with replacing the factory-supplied LED driver with a dimmable version to see if that will work.Keep in mind you only have a little over 3' of wire between the individual lights and there's no easy way to extend that distance (at least without cutting, splicing and re-insulating the wires), so plan your layout accordingly. It's also perhaps not the best solution for a large installation or truly custom setup, since you will need multiple LED drivers if you exceed 16 lights or want to be able to hide the wiring better. The connectors between the lights are great for the average DIYer--you can't mess them up, and they should hold up to the weather--but as a consequence, it would be harder to hide the wires and connectors for a hidden install. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered a longer power cord for the driver/power supply and also offered a version with a built-in light sensor to turn these lights on/off automatically when it gets dark. Of course that would cost more money...That said, for an average deck where the backside of the stairs (or wherever else you want to mount these) isn't visible, this is a good cost-effective way of adding that pop of light, and with the prevalence of inexpensive smart outlets, most homeowners will be able to come up with a solution that works well for their needs.
