I recently installed the Recessed LED Deck Light Kits with Protecting Shell (φ32mm, 10 Pack) by SMY on my 5 deck steps risers, and I couldn't be happier with the results!First off, the installation was a breeze. Mounting the driver under my deck allowed me to secure it easily using the supplied screws. The warm white light perfectly complements my other lights, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. These lights are incredibly bright, so just a heads-up: you might want to consider purchasing a dimmer if you have multiple lights installed close together. While I have read that some people felt the wires were too short, we did not encounter this issue on our stairs. However, depending on your spacing, you may want to consider getting the extenders.Overall, the SMY LED Deck Light Kits are easy to install, easy to connect, and provide excellent brightness. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space!

These lights are great. I put them in my main house in the picture included here - in that case the brown Trex deck, and I liked them so much I just installed a second set at my lake house - wooden steps - picture attached here shown as mid-project (for a couple of stairs I've completed two lights per stair, but for most stairs only one in so far (and yes, I'll be redoing my railing next in case you can't tell!)).There was so much discussion around what size hole saw to use with a lot of people indicating 15/16 inch - a size my kit did not come with - so I ordered one from Amazon. Oh dear God, it was not close to 15/16 when it finally came, so that was wasted time and dollars.Save yourself the trouble. Trust me, I've now installed 40+ of these lights - if you're installing them without the outer black case then 25 mm is the perfect hole saw size. I haven't installed any lights with the black case so I'm not going to comment on the correct size for that I stall.Admittedly I might buy a dimmer for the lake house given that there are 28 lights, but I'd rather have them too bright and dim them down than get lights that aren't bright enough... It's very dark at the lake house.

We just had our deck rebuilt and my husband installed these all around the perimeter, they are such a pretty addition! We definitely thought they would be much brighter since someone’s review indicated dimming was a good idea, but they really are just right at the brightest setting. We live in one of those no-light-pollution areas and it is extremely dark at night so these lights set off our new deck perfectly! My husband says they were easy to install and he has them connected to Alexa on a timed basis which works great! We are very happy with this purchase!

Hands down the most affordable and best looking solution for deck stair lights! We're avid DIYers but certainly not super experienced and this was a simple project once we had an electrician install our outdoor outlet. We used the recommendations of many other reviewers and found these the most helpful/necessary to follow:- If you're installing them recessed (without the protective shell), you'll need a 15/16-Inch Forstner Bit - it's a perfect fit- Definitely add on the SMY Deck Lights Dimmer with RF Wireless Remote Controller (or a similar dimmer) - these lights are TOO bright at 100%. We keep ours on at 10% constantly and it's the perfect amount of light/throw without blinding you as you walk up the stairs.- If you want your stair lights to turn on automatically, I recommend the Kasa outdoor smart plug over a simpler outdoor light sensor timer. We lose power at the house where we installed these lights somewhat often and the simpler sensor timer did not remember our settings, so the lights wouldn't come on automatically after an outage. Kasa however, remembers the settings (and keeps the lights at 10%) even post-outage and can be set to follow actual sunset times based on location.

I bought these initially to replace bulbs that were installed before I moved into my house. These were easy to install, bright, and have lasted a long time. I've liked them so much I replaced the bulbs on the rear of my house to match. For that new set I had to get one part replaced and that was quick and easy. There are plenty of options out there but these are my go-tos and I'd recommend them to anyone drowning in choices. Buy with confidence.

These are great lights. I think unboxing them might have taken longer than installing them :-) unfortunately, the dimmer and remote did not work well for me. I wanted to keep the lights at 10% all the time and then power them on/off with a switch, not the remote. I was not able to do this. When the switch was turned on, the lights would not come back on without the remote. I simply removed the dimmer unit, and I'm now simply powering them on and off with my switch. It's unfortunate because they're extremely bright.. Which, depending on your application, can be a good or bad thing. Overall though, they're awesome lights and I would recommend them to anyone. I will be buying a 12v driver/power supply separately with a dimming switch to see if I can get them to work the way I'd like them to. I'll update this review when I get this done. The remote is very small and flimsy, I'd rather the remote not be my primary source of adjusting the lights. Not to mention, in my house, that thing would likely get lost! Also, I did buy a 15/16 spade drill bit, I did not use the black sleeve, and the installation was truly a breeze. Be mindful of lining up the arrows - they're rather hard to see. I'd recommend wiring them up during full daylight hours.Update: 10/7/2020I've since purchased a 12v/60W power supply and dimmer, and I'm pleased to say that the updated configuration is working well! Since I ran together more lights than a single provided power supply can supply in watts, this was necessary. I wired a dimmer switch, which also powers the lights off, and this was the perfect solution for my situation. It's a rotary, PWM dimmer, which I mounted in an outdoor plastic enclosure box. These lights are awesome!
