We hate regular floss which is like a wire and doesn’t clean as good as tape.

Unlike a previous purchase of this item which arrived like a solid wax roll of dental tape, these (3) arrived in great shape.

I only use Dental Tape to clean between my teeth. A very good product!

This stuff is extra thick so it really gets stuff out that you didn't know was there even after flossing with regular floss. I have a spot where food usually gets trapped in after eating and would have to floss several times with regular floss but this really gets it out.A word of caution however: If you have crowns, be really careful with this or you just might pop out your crown. If you see it not moving back up, just push it straight back out. It's already done its job.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably affected by the horrible developments in floss/tape and packaging. Wither the waxed mint tape of days gone by? Why has floss gone the way of fishing line, braided or not, where it’s indestructible and snaps into and severs an artery in your gums/lip, or frays and becomes ensnared on any little crevice or irregular surface? Then you have to use floss to floss out the floss!!! Or it tears in two like a wet paper towel. My dentist has given decent samples at cleanings and after I whined provided a different sample. Nope. It’s called Dr. ______ and I see the packaging has gone from plastic to paper/cardboard and people aren’t happy. Well, this isn’t a review for that, but it frayed like crazy and I couldn’t easily use the plastic sample container in the dark. And THAT’s why I bring it up….I believe using floss, from cutting from the dispenser to using it should not require light. When I brush and floss at night, I do so with the light off bc the BA doors are mostly glass, so light infringes on the bedroom. Seems reasonable, and it’s also part of my sleep hygiene to reduce or elim light as I get ready for sleep. So if you can’t make a dispenser that works reliably with a clean cut on feel alone, it’s out. I just got this Reach pack if 3 (3 individual sealed ones shrink wrapped together). I immediately tried it and while it’s not as slick and “tapeworm flat” as the old stuff, it’s great. It’s thick so you may have pull the length of floss through once you snap it in. But it doesn’t cut or sting like a guitar string. It doesn’t fray if you keep the contact point moving, or tear apart resulting in two useless lengths. It has the tried and true old-school container with a double system to cinch and cut. I’m all in.

Recommended by hygienist to get in between teeth, other brands don't really touch the teeth enough to benefit. So I tried this...yikes, it is hard to pull through. I'll use it, but will probably switch back the standard floss I was using.

I try to make a daily habit of flossing. An issue that has made that task especially challenging and frustrating to me, is that my teeth seem to have two issues that make flossing a total lesson in irritation. First, apparently my teeth seem as though they must be abnormally close together. Secondly, I apparently have a number of somewhat sharp edges on some of my teeth. I am left to conclude both simply given my baseline of personal frustration in using floss.I have tried numerous different brands and types and have found none to be able to consistently address this irritation. The result is that virtually every kind of floss that I have used has invariably shredded and has frequently broken (frayed) and has resulted in pieces becoming lodged tightly between my teeth. This seems to happen at least 1-2 times per week. When I say that the floss feels like a rope in my teeth, after shredding and breaking, I am not exaggerating. Simply pulling out another piece of the very same brand/type of floss in an attempt to dislodge that very same floss that just broke mere moments before, and is now tightly wedged between my teeth, seems a fool's errand at best. First, it will invariably break even more quickly when trying to forcefully use it to dislodge the torn piece, now lodged within my teeth. Now, I do realize that they tend to sell this type of floss primarily for people who have the opposite problem from mine. People who tend to have wider spaces within their teeth. Given its thickness, I could easily see this being a problem-solver for them. While it may seem counterintuitive, when I now break off a piece of floss, that becomes frayed and lodged between my teeth, I will immediately take out a piece of this 'rope,' to easily force it into the area of shredded floss that is lodged within my teeth, and I can very typically dislodge it quite easily. This stuff is about like twine (slight exaggeration to illustrate) and is able to be counted upon to stand up under the sheer force required to dislodge the piece of broken or frayed floss. One could well be inclined to simply make an astute observation, and posit the thought, 'why don't you simply use this floss always?' Good query, first it is considerably more costly, than the package containing several packages for discount at Costco. Since every named and popular brand that I have ever tried poses the very same problem for me, it seems to matter very little which I purchase, other than this thick 'rope-type,' of floss. If you are sharing my challenge, believe me, I get it. This floss could be a problem solver for you. I sincerely hope that it is!
