When I called RDL, (or maybe it was email?) and explained what I wanted to do, they said that this microphone compressor might work but that they’d never tried it. It worked.I’m in a band with punk singers who can’t be bothered to learn how to “work the mic“ by backing up when they sing loud (yell) which is often. We use a JamHub - which is awesome but esoteric and quirky. When the mic channels peak, the JamHub recordings (digital) skip. I was also worried about damaging it with frequent redlining. I initially got an Art preamp compressor but its xlr output is far too hot for the jamhub’s xlr inputs. I have to use it in the jamhub’s 1/4” ins (I don’t know whether it’s because the jamhub quarter inch trim is a lower level or because the preamp’s quarter-inch output is a lower level) which means the jamhub built-in effects won’t work on that microphone.… Weird, esoteric, I know. If you had a JamHub, you’d understand the quirk.Anyhow, this RDL product solves my dilemma. It’s not perfect but it’s small (mounted with one strip of 3M Dual Lock) and it’s The only compressor I know of to both accept microphone level XLR and output microphone level XLR, compressed and limited.I’d give it four stars but because it empowers me to do what I want, and nobody’s complained about it, we’ll call it an Amazon-5-star.I purchased mine elsewhere.
