As mentioned in the title, this is a really nice bat, just not approved for any league my son plays in. I would love for him to be able to use this bat in a game, but no such luck. When he has used it in BP with me he clearly hits the ball harder and further. He also mentions there is less vibration and "stinging hands" with this bat than his "legal" Demarini.

Corrupt Rawlings company.I bought this $400 bat for my son for a tournament after officials saying it could be used and was later advised that the bat could not be used. It was illegal. Never used.Never swung. It was returned to Rawlings in perfect condition with the delivery box and all paperwork, decals, everything returned when I turned it in along with a letter stating why it was returned.Rawlings STOLE $200 from me to put the plastic wrap back on the bat. There are a lot of good bats to buy and I have paid thousands of dollars in bats, gloves and other equipment from Rawlings over the years. To take half of the bat’s value - only to resell it for twice what they gave me - it ungrateful to their loyal customers and highway robbery.Go to blazes Rawlings - never again.PS I knew there would be a fee to restock the bat, but half? Insanity and a symptom of greed that needs no explaining.

Bought this as a gift for my son. He really loves it. Finally broke it in this past week and it has a lot of pop. Seems durable so far.

Let me get one thing straight right off the bat (pun intended) — I’m not here to talk about how good the Rawlings Unicorn Icon looks. That’s already a given. We all know it’s a stunner. But let’s focus on what really matters: performance. And let me tell you — this bat is insanely hot right out of the wrapper.I got this bat for my son, and from the very first swing, we both knew this was something special. No break-in period? No problem. It was game-ready the second we pulled it out of the wrapper. He was launching balls deep into the outfield without even trying — and the sweet spot? It feels massive. Even his miss-hits were carrying, and when he squared one up? Forget about it. We were both watching balls sail with that perfect crack off the bat.The Unicorn Icon has this perfect balance of power and control. My son was getting that smooth, whip-like swing speed but with a barrel that feels like it was built to launch absolute bombs. We couldn’t believe the exit velo — pure rockets coming off the bat.If you’re a parent looking for a bat that’s ready to perform from day one, the Rawlings Unicorn Icon is it. No waiting, no break-in process — just pure, unfiltered heat the moment your kid steps up to the plate.Bottom line: This bat is 🔥 HOT out of the wrapper and had my son crushing balls right away. It’s an absolute game-changer!

Really awesome bat. Unfortunately we had to exchange it because it's not legally approved for little league.

Great pop right away. My son loves this bat. Way more reliable vs these other expensive bats that don't last. I will get this bat again in the next size.

My 12 yr old had a -10, 29 inch icon that he outgrew from his 11u season. So for spring 2024 we got the heavier -8 Louisville Meta which is end loaded compared to the center balanced icon and he began to favor that. I didn’t love it though. I could see the drag in his swing from the new weight and end weight of the bat. He started hitting more dinky grounders so as not to get under balls and pop out. That deflated his confidence a bit and led him into a hitting slump. By late spring his coach let him use a longer, heavier center balanced bat that seemed to help so after a season we got the new icon -5 so slightly heavier, center balanced, composite and 2 inches longer. This helped a TON coming from the drag in the swing of the end loaded Louisville Meta bat and pulled him out of his slump and into hitting deep bombs over center field with ease. I’m not usually one to say it’s the bat, but in this case I do think the heavier weight and center balancing with of course proper length helped since he likes to line up a little farther from home than most. The material of these icons makes the balls float!
