Your cart is empty.Most rain-sensing devices work by measuring a predetermined amount of rainfall before activating a switch that halts irrigation. During this accumulation time, the system will unnecessarily continue to water. This can look especially bad for conservation-conscious municipalities, businesses, and residences. With built-in Quick Response Technology, the Hunter Wired Rain-Clik Rain Sensor can command a controller to shut off right when it starts to rain. Mount the sensor on an eave or a flat, vertical surface such as a wall or fence. An optional gutter mount is available to install the sensor on the edge of a gutter.

Defective right out of the box. When I connected it to the system, it generates 100s of log entries where it would say rain detected and then one second later, rain gone.

This is a wired device. I replaced my wireless sensor with this one, which I had constant issues with. Before replacing I tried contacting Hunter technician which was a waste of time.

Quick update. Today I got my irrigation startup. It rained tonight and clearly the rain detector did not detect it at 8AM.The rain sensor is dead after less than 1 year. According to the irrigation guy, it's the sponge which does not expanse sufficiently to detect rain. I'm going to upgrade my Hunter controller for a WIFI Hunter one which get the weather every hour from Internet.
