An astute customer of ours pointed out that the original root Slayer shovel can be overkill for many gardening tasks & even too heavy for some older gardeners. She said we should design a lightweight version specifically for working with perennials. So we started with a blade that is about 70% of the size of the root Slayer shovel, added a lightweight super durable fiberglass shaft, & topped it off with our patented O-handle grip. The root Slayer Perennial shovel is truly a miracle worker in the garden. We recently dug out, divided & transplanted a sizable bed of daylilies in about half the normal time with this incredible tool. The sharpened inverted V cutting tip prevents perennial roots from slipping from underneath the shovel blade while dividing. &, it's every bit as useful for raised beds, flower gardens, & general digging.

Great tool. I the version with the circular handle better than the ones they make with the stumpy handle. Both are excellent, but this gives better pushing power and leverage.

Hat genau die richtige Länge zum ergonomischen Arbeiten. Der kreisförmige Griff lässt sich aus allen Lagen gut greifen und der spitz zulaufende Spatenbereich lässt sich präzise zur Wurzel hin ansetzen. Top Produkt. Klare Empfehlung.

I have dug over 8,000 holes with this shovel in the hobby of Metal Detecting. I'm a senior citizen and my knees are bad, so I can't get down on the ground and dig with a hand trowel. The Radius Root slayer is the perfect compromise. The narrow fork tongued tip is great for digging small divots to pop out shallow targets, but the shovel widens out at the top and the serrated edges really do slay the roots making it possible to dig deep plugs if need be.The shovel is lightweight yet incredibly strong. I have leaned on it very heavily busting targets out from under large roots. I can't break it. Love the ergonomics of the shovel including the round handle. And I have even dug several perennials to help my wife in her garden and of course it is perfectly designed for that and works great.Reasonably priced and highly recommended!

After testing several, this one won out by a large margin. Its primary use was to remove phragmite (a bamboo like plant) from my yard and a marsh area. These are very strong. I bought a second one for guys to use on my cleanout project. The tools quadrupled the productivity, and made cutting the tuber root structure and getting the rootball out possible.I also found they work perfectly to dig holes for planting plastic potted plants from the nursery. These tip shape enables you to dig just the right size hole, depending on what your planting. No, I am not involved in any way with the company….

First off this is an incredibly high quality shovel. I have had some ornamental grass that has grown into a very rocky soil that has been impossible to move, with this shovel I was able to remove about 15 ft of it in about 30 minutes! It's such a pleasure to use that I have been walking around my lawn looking for places to use it hah.I have a lot of small ash trees growing around my property and this shovel makes very quick work of the roots, it's also great for digging up plants like blackberries and other bushes and due to the shape of the shovel it makes it very easy to dig another hole that fits exactly.I am 6'4 and the handle length is perfect, it's incredibly sharp and can even get through Rocky soil and tough roots. If you're already using it to remove dirt around Roots it works great, but if you have a lot of soil to remove I would use another shovel, but it's just wide enough to get the job done.I would highly recommend this to anyone Who does any gardening on a regular basis, it's quickly become my favorite tool!

I bought this little “shovel” to dig in a small dirt patch where the city planted a tree in front of our house. The tree is destroying the sidewalk because of the root. I used this great little tool to clean up all the roots to try and prevent further damage. This is a very well made shovel. Just the perfect size and it performs. It cut through the tangle of roots and weeds like they were nothing. This is the best purchase I have made in a very long time. I can’t get over how great this product is.If you have a small patch of land, you need this shovel. I love it.

I bought this recently to use with my metal detector and it works great! I wanted something small but sturdy and this has a lot of nice features. I like the large perch to put your foot on, makes it very easy to dig in hard ground. I haven't used this a lot but I was surprised how easy it is to dig a plug with it. With the tapered design of the actual blade, it sinks into the ground with no effort at all. The teeth on the sides of the blade will be nice for cutting roots (I am sure my wife will be using it too since she has a green thumb in her flower gardens). I really can't see how you could break this unless you use it as a pry bar trying to get out a large rock. I am anxious to get more use out of it next spring and I am sure it will last me a long time. I am very OCD when it comes to taking care of my tools, I always wash them off with water, let them dry and then coat them with WD-40. Nothing worse than trying to dig with a rusty shovel!!
