Although these are really meant to be installed on a thin panel, the bracket that holds them in place can be modified to mount to a 3/4” piece of wood.Its all metal, no plastic.The key/cylinder is the weakest point, but standard level for cabinet style locksI especially like the adjustable “post”.

I didn't mind them and how they function, but they let water through like mad. Do not use in a situation where you want the compartment water tight. Pretty disappointed in that part, but they otherwise worked ok. Unfortunately that's a deal breaker for me and I'll need to find another option.

Received both locking latches with no keys. Defeats the purpose of locking latches when you don’t have keys and can’t lock them.

I had an RV outside TV hatch lock stop working. I went to purchase a replacement latch direct from manufacturer, but they were out of stock. I went to Amazon and found they carried the "real" thing as well, but they were out of stock. So I went to what was available, this one. Overall it looks the same, uses the same key, and fit the RV. Its not quite as flush when closed, but it works, looks good, and is effective in keeping my outside TV from disappearing. Oh, and it was half the cost.
