It's made well but there are no instructions or suggested use. I used it to create a magnetetic field for a class.

There was no packing material in the box it was packaged in, and as a result, one of the terminal nuts was broken. See image. Otherwise, it appears to be as I expected it.

Simple but useful to show kids electromagnetic effect and how transformers work.

The silly reviews don't understand what this exactly I think that is the confusion. No it is not a magnetic core, the description doesn't say that either. It's simply a metal core. The small coil inside measures about 2.5ohms, the larger outside one measures about 40ohms. I stuck a small oscillator on the inner coil and the outer coil had voltage. It is a transformer. That's how transformers work. I bought 2. They are great demonstration units for showing how transformers work. You can add or remove the center rod and see the effects of doing so. You can also remove the center coil and see how that effects the magnetic fields. By itself it doesn't do anything. With a little knowledge you can make it do something. Some of the reviews have crazy expectations for a coil demonstration unit.

I ordered the two pack! Neither one of the 111mm by 12mm magnetic rods are magnetized! No instructions came with this. I took the rod out of both and there is no magnatzation in either one of these kits???

The quality of the product seems good, but there is zero documentation with this. Even a website link to recommended videos would be helpful. I haven't had much success finding documentation/videos that use these specific items on line to know how much current I can put through them (Some other reviewers did post recommendations).

The coil I got is lightly damaged. The red tube is to protect the coil. It's shipped alone in a box - just sitting.I tested it, and the coil itself is fine. However, the specs for this are very demanding. Like more than 10w demanding. I didn't expect that for this price. It also seems hand assembled.I found it to be fairly well built. Transfer is great between coils. It has basically one use, which will be wireless charging power. This coil is no good for anything but science shows. If you want to play with it right, buy a couple of 6v batteries (the big ones) and hook them up. Bring resistors just in case.
