This is a vertical battery grip for Canon EOS RP R8 DSLR Camera. It can be used as an additional power source for the camera. This vertical grip can also hold one or two LP-E17 Li-ion batteries - effectively doubling your recording capacity. It provides enhanced flexibility and not only helps to keep your hand in vertical and horizontal position, but also provides a stable platform for taking portraits, still life shots and other subjects that require a vertical format.
This battery grip can provide redundant button function controls and a trigger that is directly at hand when used vertically. This eliminates the need to access camera controls when shooting vertically.
There is power on/off switch.

Utilizado para la canon R8.+ El funcionamiento general es muy bueno.+ Se integra muy bien a la cámara.+ El equilibrio que aporta a la cámara es muy bueno.Aunque hay un pequeño detalle a tener en cuenta.- Las baterías entran muy justas y es difícil retirarlas. Si estás en medio de un trabajo y tienes que cambiar las baterías con urgencia, no es muy práctico.Aún con ese detalle, es un producto muy recomendable. Imagino que con el correr del tiempo y el uso, te acostumbras a retirar las baterías con mayor facilidad.

Its sturdy, well built and feels good when using it. Reason why only 4 stars is the battery slots are a bit too tight hence its a lil hard to remove the batteries. Otherwise, I 100% recommend this to anyone wanting to enhance RP/R8 battery life and better grip.

Works with 3rd party batteries and canon original batteries feels good in hands. worked perfectly for a 12 hr shoot. I would recommend if u looking for a cheap grip.

I have larger hands and adding this grip gives me more comfort when shooting. Any extra weight or bulk is trivial to me. I verified the features work as claimed including the vertical shutter button and in camera charging of both batteries. While it is quite easy to remove the grip to access the card I find it much more convenient to just Bluetooth or Wifi download. The On/Off button on the grip only controls the remote shutter button for vertically oriented usage which the product description does not adequately state. The instruction on how to remove the camera battery door is inadequate. It does not even mention the release slider mechanism. Once you know this it just takes 2 seconds. The battery door storage in the grip is appreciated. I bought a decoded battery and when paired with the OEM the camera shows battery life properly. I do find myself paying more attention to the leveling viewfinder display as I seem to be naturally holding the camera a few degrees off. All in all I am very satisfied.

The battery grip works well. One minor thing though, insert the 2 batteries into the grip first, then attach the grip to the camera. This will ensure that you get full bars on the battery level indicator. If you insert the batteries after connecting the grip, the battery indicator will only display half of the bars. (Canon R8 only. The Canon EOS RP does not appear to have this issue)

The R8 has the same body as the RP, this is compatible but it has some errors detecting batteries but that rarelly has happened now. Batteries are canon oem brand but it happens barely that doesnt detect them. Other 3rd party brand are not recommended with this grip even though 3rd partie brands are not necessarily bad
