I paid extra because I don't like the metal clasps. The gummed closure makes it easier to insert documents, remove documents, and reinsert documents while still being able to close the envelope in between.I use clear packing tape when I mail these big envelopes whether they have a metal clasp or not.

I really have no complaints, if mailing I would tape it up, but their honestly better quality and cheaper than the regular ones they sale in stores. I don’t really care that I have to tape it, makes no difference to me. I’d probably tape it regardless just because of how I am and I’m also shipping stuff not just paper. That said..: Absolutely will buy again when we need more!

These are so far the best I've used. With the sticky tape that seems to never lose its stickiness I recommend this highly for people that need to open and close the seal. The other kinds with the little aluminum style tabs break ALL the time and I spend like 5 minutes picking up the little pieces on the floor and then your envelope no longer has the "seal"... so totally get these, the quality is TOP notch! I recommend it highly, fast shipping and a wonderful price. Awesome seller!!! :)

These are a FABULOUS value. I like these envelopes BETTER than the original metal clasp type, this design is not only cleaner and niftier, since you can re-use them, plus they weigh less and for postage considerations that a good thing. Not to mention, these are a CRAZY good value, i got 100 envelopes for $10. You can beat this brand.

If you are looking for envelopes for hand-delivered documents, these are the best option.If you would like to use these as shipping envelope, there may not be the best,as "clear clasp" is not strong enough for rough handling during shipping, so you need to tape it up.Good quality paper, great price.

Love the idea, and it works well for a while. We open and close the envelopes quite a bit, and over time, the sticky gets covered with hair, dust, etc., and doesn't stick as well, or stops sticking all together. That is to be expected and was not a surprise; they actually last longer than expected, and longer than the metal clasp ones (which break off after a while and leave a sharp thing to scratch you or rip papers). Because I got these on clearance, they are cheap enough to just grab a new one to replace those that don't stick anymore. Over all I'm satisfied with them and would order them again.
