5.5KW VFD

5.5KW 220V Variable Frequency Drive

This VFD converter can be used for constant-torque loads ( air compressors, HVAC units, and other hard-start kits.) and variable-torque loads (pumps, fans, etc.). It can also be used as a motor speed controller and phase converter. This VFD features 1- or 3-phase input and 3-phase output, and you can adjust the speed as needed.

Adopting sine wave PWN, this inverter’s control system features high torque drive, high-accuracy wide-range speed regulation that has 8-stage / 16-stage speed control, program operation, four settings of acceleration/deceleration time, and more.

NOTE:

1. The VFD can’t be used as a power source for other equipment, or to drive a motor with a supply voltage lower than 80V.

2. Do not connect the VFD’s output terminals with capacitive loads.

3. Choose a VFD with a larger power output when operating heavy equipment like the crane and compressor, e.g.,a 5.5 Kw motor should be connected to a 7.5 Kw VFD.

4. If a generator is used to power the VFD, ensure that the generator's output voltage level is within +/-15%.

Braking Resistance

The VFD can be connected with an external braking resistor (not included), which can consume the energy generated by the motor with an energy feedback device, such as the motor of lifting equipment or centrifugal equipment, and allows for fast braking of the motor, e.g., enabling the spindle of an engraving machine with a peed of 24,000 rpm/min stop within 0.5s-2s.)

Needed this to control a new motor for my lathe to give me variable speed without moving the drive belt (DIY upgrade). The instructions on how to program it are pretty good - no trouble following them. Combined with an RPM sensor, I have exactly what I need.

I have the QNK 10hp drive on 240VAC single phase running a 7.5hp 230VAC three phase motor. Works great so far. I recommend you be familiar with electrical controls/etc if you're going to be messing around with this type of equipment. It is dangerous if not setup properly.To set the main frequency (F003) and reference frequency (F004) higher than 50hz for the input parameter you MUST first change the max frequency parameter (F005) to 60hz, or it won't allow you to change any other parameter above 50hz.

I connected it to 220VAC and I connected the 3 motor phases. And it worked. I didn't use any of the special controls or settings. I turned it on and off. Reversed directions. And varied the RPMs with the knob on the front. And I was pleased with how easy it was ti get it operating.

Had it wired in and it wouldn’t power up the machine. Wasn’t able to have it wired in immediately and they wouldn’t send a replacement. Was issued a return and was charged a “restocking fee” to send it back just outside of the 30 days.

I was running VFD on 3 phase Mill for several years. Purchased newer7.5HP Lathe and decided to go VFD on it also. Decided to remove thesmaller VFD from Mill to use on other projects so I add a Drum switchON/Off/ON to new VFD and operate the Lathe or Mill being side by sidefrom single VFD. Mounted on swing post so VFD is accessible to either machine.Can only run one machine at time but for small one man shop works great.

I used this VFD to control a 3-phase 5-hp air compressor motor. I used the slow start function to slowly start the motor over 5 second period. I used the compressor pressure switch to control the "run" feature. I let the compressor run for 30 minutes with open lines, then let it cycle several times. No problem with the motor or the controls. The only negative thing is the manual. You need reading glasses to be able to read it and it is poorly translated. More diagrams would be helpful. Other than the manual, it everything else was good.
