It's perfection for getting out the pins. No help getting them back in, and I can't find anything except how to get them out. Yes, you hit them with a hammer to put them back in (if they don't almost fall in). But some are a little stubborn, and are painted. Hitting those with a metal hammer can remove the paint. This thing has some indentations near the flat base (you can see them plainly in the photos). There's nothing I can find about any purpose for those (and the head of a hinge pin doesn't fit into or mate with them). The material is great for transferring the impact, but the design isn't there.

The pictures and ad do not do it justice. Home Depot sells them also and they're called pin poppers. Same as what you will receive here. I work in the moving industry and of course removing doors lots to get appliances in. One amazing product. Very highly recommended.

This product is well designed and built with dense plastic and a steel pin. It makes pin removal a lot easier.

Great product, and simple to use. The construction of the item helps to knock the pin out of it's place easy, preventing possible bents if done incorrectly.

This has the potential to be a really cool tool. I was excited to use it, as a professional handyman, I do a lot of door work. It fits nicely in the hinge corner, to make hinge pin removal very easy, particularly the bottom hinge. And then, the top v-groove works great to help slide the pin the rest of the way out of the hinge, even for tight hinges. But the steel pin only lasted about 6 doors for me, before it broke off out of the plastic base, rendering the tool pretty much useless. It wasn't like I hit it crooked or jammed it in the hinge, either. Just a stubborn hinge pin, and a direct hit from the hammer on the bottom of the unit caused it to break. Maybe they can make one a bit more robust for real world, professional use. A great idea, but flawed in execution.

A must have for anyone in colder climates, where hinges can rust.
