There are a lot of sash locks available on amazon, with various poor reviews. I live in a heritage house, and wanted something appropriate. These sash locks really did the job, they look great, and are really solid. I replaced all of my sash locks with these.

This lock-set is on the pricey side for what it is but it’s all in the fabrication. Most modern lock-sets are dye cast cheap metal that’s brass plated. This lock-set is forged from solid brass and at least double the weight of the cheaper sets.I live in an 1898 home and didn’t want to put something that was flimsy and wouldn’t stand the test of time. I also very lovingly restored the entire window jam and sashes of the original double-hung windows. After all of that putting a worthy lock-set on was really important to me

I've ordered other sash locks. They work. I have 4 big windows that look directly out onto my backyard. My beautiful backyard with waterfalls and koi pond. Everyone gravitates to the window where they can look out onto the backyard view, including me. I can't have cheap, sharp corners on the window sash locks. These sash locks have smooth, rounded edges. They are quality. They are the real deal for a quality sash locks. I won't buy any other sash locks and will purchase more of these to replace the old crusty sash locks on the rest of my windows. It's a small price to pay for something that looks good and works well.

After our bathroom remodel, the window hardware was the only miscolored metal piece left in the room. I was concerned these wouldn’t be as nice as the original from 1968, but these are excellent quality. Nice brushed nickel color. A+!

These sash locks look really nice, but there are two deficiencies. The first is that the locking side is shorter than my nearly 100 year old sash locks. This could be accommodated by shimming the lock side up by 1/8", or so. Of course, this would then necessitate finding longer screws that have a matching finish. The more serious deficiency is that the rivet used to hold the locking mechanism to the base is made of weak material. After just a few lock/unlock cycles the rivet loosened up to the point that the lock was difficult to rotate. I fear that the rivet will fail entirely in very short order.

Great quality but on the Andersen Narrowline 200 series windows the keeper sticks out too far and keeps lower sash from opening.

This is well made but if you use it on old windows, the slope of the latch is almost 180 degrees. That is great for new perfect windows, but on old ones it would be better to have a greater slope, so it has more leeway to close down. So if your two windows are perfect where they cross it is perfect, but if with old windows or if you added a foam strip and where they cross now there is an 1/8 inch difference, these latches do not have enough slope to get your windows tight, or else you now have too shim them. This will make sense to you once you have my issue. If the sloping latch was steeper, it would compensate if your windows were not exactly perfect, and windows would be tight.Hope that helps.
