The recipient Chef was pleased with the tools, which he said will make easier the task of turning large joints of meat.

Love these calendars! Only comment - This year’s edition has a bit larger page size than previous years; card stock is nice and heavy.

They are a solid piece that shredded meats i cooked in a slow cooker with ease. I was using two forks which was a pain, these make near instant work. It is easy to shred the entire pork or beef into even chunks. The spacing of the claws is perfect and doesn't clog. Easy cleanup. Wish i had bought these sooner.

Well built, but claws too thick to penetrate raw meat & very difficulty for lifting brisket >10# to put in smoker.

These are superior in quality to any others i have seen. They hold, lift and shred meats with ease. They can be used to score frosting as well.

This claws are awesome! They are manufactured wonderfully. Outside of the tips everything is smooth and nicely polished. Tips have a nice point that lets you dig in. Handles are very comfortable and allows for multiple holding positions. Very nice. They are are very sleek and come with nice storage bags. These are a major upgrade from the plastic ones I had before. Hands down very pleased with these! I would recommend!

I have a few pairs of plastic bear claws that I use to pull apart my smoked pork butts. (Yes, I smoke a ton of butts!)I've never had any trouble with my plastic claws, but I figured I'd check these out. I used them last weekend after smoking two 8-9 pound butts and they did pretty well. These are heavier than my plastic claws. They feel good in my hands, but the metal construction is also heat-conductive and I had to wait a little longer for the meat to cool down. I always let it rest, but it's usually still pretty hot inside. It needs to rest even longer when I use these. These metal claws are dishwasher safe just like my plastic ones. They seem pretty comparable in just about every way, except that I can't use these with anything I cook in the crockpot because they'll scratch the crock. I'll also have to be careful if I use them with disposable foil pans. Luckily I pull most of my meat on large aluminum cooking sheets, so these won't be a problem.Frankly these seem like more of a vanity item than an upgrade. I'll probably whip these out if I'm trying to show off in front of friends (low-grade flex). The rest of the time I'll probably stick with the plastic ones.Since anybody shopping for these is a de-facto fan of pulled meats, let me share my favorite tip for pulled pork or beef: Add more seasonings as you shred and mix the meat. You probably added a ton of seasonings to the outside to get a good bark, but the seasonings don't really transfer to the inside of the roast. Liberally add more to your meat as you mix it and taste it as you go. My pulled meats are infinitely more crowd pleasing since I started doing this.

Under kitchen gadgets I've wanted to try, these were high on the list. And when they arrived, I couldn't wait to put them to the test.Into the slow cooker went a nice 8lb pork shoulder. And a long 8 hours later, it was time to pop the claws. OK they're not adamantine, but solid cast stainless steel is a good substitute. Solid, sturdy and they look a lot tough than others I've seen made out of plastic or a hybrid plastic and steel. A set of 2, each claw arrived with its own storage bag, and helps protect them until your next usage. A high quality addition for a high-quality product. But the proof is in the useage. Time to unleash the Wolverine!I had cooked my target to a fall apart tender, but the claws still went through it faster than a certain Canadian Superhero and a case of his favorite beverage. Best of all, I didn't need to wait for it to cool to the touch or hope my forks didn't run into something not quite that tender. In a few fun minutes, I had reduced the shoulder from a thick hunk of meat, to pulled apart shreds read for a sandwich. They did excellent work, efficiently and quickly. I spent longer on the eating and clean up.Oh yeah, daddy likes.Only "down" side, having to eat it all before I can use them again. I think I can live with that.
