I use these for all kinds of things, I have even made custard in them (OK, not the most recent ones I bought but I've been using this style for 50+ years). I routinely use them for checking eggs before addition to a recipe, melting butter, small servings of soft food like ice cream or yogurt, holding small items like beads when working on a craft project or small amounts of volatile liquids like essential oils. I use one to bake the leftover filling when I make pumpkin pie. The design hasn't changed in all the years I've owned them, so the new ones match the ones my kids haven't managed to lose. As far as I know, none of them have been broken. They are thick enough to resist breakage from a normal drop, although I don't recommend throwing one at a concrete floor. They are glass after all.

Was happy to find these, though they are a little bigger than the “dessert cups” I was replacing. They are sturdy and seem durable!

These little bowls are so handy in the kitchen! To hold measured ingredients like herbs and spices for meal prep; for sauces on the table; to melt butter in the microwave; etc. I use one on the counter to hold my wet teabag until it dries out for the trash. They are the high quality you'd expect from Pyrex. And the little fluted edges are pretty! The price for this quantity was excellent, too.

These were my mother’s favorite little bowls. Now they are my favorite bowls. I’ve never had one break. They stack very well. I have tried the new style with lids. They are great, too, but I will always love my original little bowls.

Versatile, I use mine to hold a serving of vegetables or small dessert- also handy for food prep- but the design was changed at some point to make them thicker and more durable. I prefer the older design. I didn't give 5 stars for that reason.

I bought these after breaking one of the 100+ year old custard cups that had been my mother's. Worthy replacement! A tad larger than the old ones so they don't stack well together. They hold up well to having custard baked in them and in the cold as ice cream dishes. A word of caution in handling; these are the real-deal Pyrex. If you drop one on a tile floor it doesn't just break; it turns to fine bits and scatters!Best not let children or clumsy husbands wash them.Price feels high but considering how long you can expect them to last - a great deal.
