I used this clamp when installing my new muffler and after I first tightened it down there was some air leaking back through the connection. I broke out my bigger 1/2' socket wrench and tightened it down quite a bit more, almost to the point where the to ends touched. That fixed the leak problem and there's absolutely no play at all in the joint.

I ordered 8, then 2 weeks later, another 4 of these band clamps in September of 2012. At the time they were on sale for less than $7 here on Amazon. I ended up having 2 extra, and I'm glad I did because I had one break the curved H shaped center washer and two had outside washers sheer apart. Some have a cast aluminum look to the H washer and some have a copper color (yellow zinc coated) on all the hardware. The ones that failed had the aluminum color. The good ones on the head of the bolt have a 10.9 stamped on them and have a yellow zinc coating on the hardware. I will post pictures of them next to each other. If you get the kind that are yellow zinc, you have a good clamp, the others are junk. The good ones have a Pypes logo stamped into the band, where the cheaper ones have the letters PYPES etched onto them. The good ones appear to have higher quality stainless steel finish to them as well.The good ones are easily worth $10 each in my opinion, the cheap ones aren't even worth $1.I hope I got counterfeit ones or something, would suck if this was a bean-counter change because I expect better from Performance Years / Pypes.Update: I can no longer upload photos to Amazon, so I put them in a blog post on my blog, search for "Review of Pypes Exhaust Band Clamps Mods and Rods".

the picture shows 2 clamps and only 1 shipped. There are several other clamps on amazon that are basically the same for half the price. the only reason i bought it was because i thought it was a set of 2. ill probably return it

The Pic of this listing shows 2 ,but you only get one which I realized when I placed my order, but someone else may be thinking they get 2.Since I only needed one I'm fine with it. This is a high quality clamp that can be used on pipe coupling and tailpipe hanger brackets, which is what I was using it for.They are much cleaner and provide better clamping force than traditional clamps and they're made of heavy gauge stainless.
