I have worked as a sound guy for years and have often used Pyle equipment as it is well designed and it holds up for years. This bullhorn is made as well as Pyle's professional sound equipment. The many C-cells does add some weight but it is not unwieldy. I did have a little. problem using the selection buttons but they did work for what I used it for.

After struggling to communicate effectively during our school's outdoor athletic events, this Pyle megaphone has completely transformed our ability to coordinate activities across our expansive campus. The claimed 1200 square yard range isn't marketing hyperbole—announcements are clearly audible across our entire athletic field, even on windy days when voices would normally be lost. I was initially concerned about complexity, but the intuitive controls allowed our entire coaching staff to operate it effectively after just minutes of familiarization. The 50W output produces remarkable volume without distortion, striking the perfect balance between power and clarity even when addressing large crowds. The multiple sound options—including siren, whistle, and recording capabilities—have proven surprisingly useful for different situations, from starting races to locating lost children during community events. Battery life exceeds expectations, lasting through an entire day of intermittent use during our recent field day without requiring a recharge. The included shoulder strap distributes the weight comfortably during extended use, preventing the arm fatigue we experienced with our previous handheld model. After two months of regular outdoor use in various weather conditions, the megaphone continues to perform flawlessly with no degradation in sound quality or volume. Beyond athletic applications, this versatile communication tool has become essential for all our outdoor events, enhancing safety and coordination while saving our vocal cords.

I love almost everything about this bullhorn. The record feature, the siren, and the ability to use the mike either affixed to the back or separately from the unit If you want to lift it higher than your face are great. It's made very well and can take a beating. My only issue is that it uses 8 C batteries! With so many rechargeable options for batteries available these days it makes no sense to use such an outdated and heavy power source. I would gladly pay more for a rechargeable model.

Got here quick. It's exactly how it looks in the picture, except for the hand piece - it's shown as being white (same color as the horn) in the ad, but it's beige. I'm not sure why they colored it white in the photos; it's even shown as beige in the instruction manual. Weird. Anyway, it's pretty loud, but I was expecting it to be a little bit louder. The siren is really loud.It has an on/off switch on both the horn itself and on the hand piece. When the horn is on and the hand piece is off, you have to pull the trigger to talk into the hand piece before it will amplify you. The hand piece can be mounted to the horn on the back - you just gotta push it with a little effort to get it to lock on. The battery compartment is pretty robust as it has little plastic guides for the batteries to go in (takes EIGHT size C batteries!!).You can also record and subsequently play the recording on a loop through the horn. This is very intuitive and you just press the record button, record your message, press record again to stop recording and then press play and it plays it on a loop.I've never even held a bullhorn at all, but this one seems pretty nice and it's very easy to use. Really, the only complaint that I have is that there is a slight delay between when you press the trigger and when it will actually start picking up your voice, so, if you're not careful, the top of your message can get cut off. It would be nice if you could press the trigger then immediately start talking.

I got this megaphone for walking my dog in my coyote infested neighborhood. We ran into coyotes just about every night. They have attacked 3 dogs and 2 people in my neighborhood in just the past 2 months. My boy was 13 years old when I ordered this, so he couldn't fight off any coyotes. My dog ended up passing from old age and cancer, but this saved us a couple of times with the coyotes while he was still here. After he passed, I kept this in my car to communicate with other drivers. I ultimately decided to give it to my cousin. He coaches girls' softball and wanted a way to be heard to the outfielders. This ended up being perfect for him. He said he loves it, and everyone on the field can hear him now. This has a siren that is very loud and scares them off. The mic can be used on the back of the megaphone or taken off and used with 2 hands. I like that you can record a message and then play it back. You can just keep replaying your message instead of repeatedly yelling it. There is a 3.5mm AUX input port for connecting other devices like your phone to play music. I was surprised how lightweight this was even after installing all of the batteries. The sound is about what I expected. It's not the loudest blow horn, but it sounds good for only 50 watts. The battery life was great for my use. I didn't use it for long periods, so it lasted a long time. My cousin used it for hours at a time and didn't want to keep buying batteries. He decided to get a set of 8 rechargeable batteries. He said if those batteries die in the middle of practice, he has a little power station that he connects it to through the 12v input. I was happy with this for my use, and now my cousin loves it for his.
