This was the cheapest piece of junk I have ever purchased. Thought it would be a good solution for a computer that has a faulty speaker. No instructions or what type of battery to use were included. We tried a double A which would not fit, 2 triple A which would not power the speaker, and even tried to fit 3 triple A batteries which will not fit in the compartment (seller suggested trying 3 AAA). It is not returnable and has never worked. Have not had a response from the seller since. This is the first time I have bought an item through Amazon that was not returnable.

I love the tiny size. I hate the tiny volume. I love the tiny price. If the device into which you are plugging this has an internal speaker, it seems unlikely that you will hear any increase in volume. If your device has no internal speaker, then this tiny speaker will be an improvement. This tiny speaker uses AAA batteries. Several of the negative reviews complained that they couldn't get AA batteries to fit. That is understandable.
