Purely us better than other hand sanitizers. It is not too thick, so it's like washing your hands. It drys fast and it doesn't have an unnatural odor. It smells strongly of alcohol which makes me feel like I'm clean.

... this is a higher alcohol content version of Purell and feels very little like "regular" Purell. It's almost anhydrous, it's so dry. Now, I personally like this and this is the stuff I carry in my little olive drab MILSPEC Purell bottle (I refill it from these 4 oz. bottles). But if you have especially dry or cracked skin, this is probably not the stuff you want. Either get regular Purell, or some sanitizer that explicitly claims to be "moisturizing."On that topic: the Amazon review site asked me to rate "scent" (five stars for no discernible scent), "for traveling" (see below) and "moisturizing." I declined to rate "moisturizing" because this stuff is not designed to moisturize, in fact it's basically the opposite. If you made me rate "moisturizing" aspects of this product, it would get zero out of five stars, but I consider that a positive thing, so I simply didn't rate it. I want to emphasize this: this is high-alcohol-content sanitizer that will *dry* your skin, not moisturize it.Traveling: this is technically more than the 3 oz. of fluids the TSA allows in one container for carry-ons for domestic U.S. flights, but during the pandemic they relaxed this rule to permit 12 oz. containers of hand sanitizer only. Now, this is supposedly a temporary relaxation and the TSA website contains conflicting information (because it's the TSA), but when I flew with a 6 oz. container of this stuff in August 2023, it was fine. This stuff is also available in the bigger 12 oz. pump bottles and I am basically going to copy my review to that product because it's the same stuff. Remember, this is different from regular Purell.

This is 85% ethyl alcohol. CDC guidelines recommends 60% for ethyl alcohol based products to kill viruses. At 85%, this will be less of a gel like consistency and more of a water consistency. There is no way around it as the carbomer that's used to turn the liquid into a gel is more unstable at higher alcohol percentage levels. Also I'd like to point out, at higher alcohol levels it will smell less perfumy and, you guessed it, more of an alcohol smell. At the higher percentage of alcohol I do notice while using it that my hands start to feel like i've burned off a thin layer of skin if used repeatedly in a day . I would definitely not use this daily, though I would use it when touching very.... questionable things. That's what I would use this for. Don't ask me what questionable things i'm touching... and I won't ask you either. :)
