I have three of these - one for my tenor trombone, one for my bass trombone, and one for my tuba. They are very protective, the magnetic clasp stays closed and unlike velcro, it will not gather threads, lint, and dog hair (a problem as I have a herd of four dogs!).The lining protects the mouthpiece well, and does not tarnish the mouthpiece like an unlined leather mouthpiece pouch.I have had the bass trombone pouch for over 10 years and the leather has not cracked and it looks like new.For the price - even double the price - you can't go wrong.Also - ProTec's customer service is one of the best in the business. I've not contacted them about the mouthpiece pouches, but I have contacted them about case problems. They answer emails promptly and go above and beyond expectations when handling problems.

This is my first mouthpiece pouch EVER. I've been playing professionally since the 90s, and always just stored my mouthpiece naked, unprotected in my case compartment. I got a wild hair last month and ordered this one, and sure am glad I did! It feels super premium and sturdy, and I can tell that this will be the one and only mouthpiece pouch I'll ever need to buy, forever. Forget the 27 trombones I've bought in my life, ... this pouch is a KEEPER! It makes me feel like a more responsible trombone player, while protecting my mouthpiece in STYLE. It looks super cool and classy, unlike those nylon ones everybody else uses. It really impressed the saxophone sections and trumpet sections, which is great, since I simply cannot impress them with my playing alone. Gotta create the image of success, man, and the gigs will come flowing in!!

This is a great mouthpiece pouch, the only complaint would be the size. Its sometimes hard to fit in the little areas of a that a trombone case has now, but if you can fit it then its fine. Its very durable and protects the mouthpiece very well. It can also fit very large mouthpieces, like my Griego .5 Deco. If it could be a little smaller but still have the good protection of the mouthpiece I would have gave it 5 stars.

This is a decent mouthpiece pouch for the price (I got it for around $5) but I think the nylon one may be a better choice. The biggest difference is that it's a lot bulkier. This is mostly because of the leather and the shape in which the pouch is made. The magnetic enclosure also adds to this. Another detractor is that the leather is very cheap feeling but you do get what you pay for. All in all its an okay pouch but I would suggest the nylon protec pouch if they are at similar price points.
