I've been using this case to lug my trombone around for 2 years, and it's still holding strong and working great! It has protected my instrument while piled in a van for thousands of miles of road trips with my bands, and the backpack straps make carrying my horn when I walk to local gigs a breeze.

I bought this product as a gift for my niece. By day April d is a teacher but on the weekends April d is a musician playing weekend gigs specializing in brass instruments such as trombone and trumpet. She flipped out when she received this as a birthday gift; very stylish with well organized compartments to accommodate the smaller components that come along with the instrument such as mouthpieces Etc.

All the other soft cases I have gotten have never lasted more than six months. This one has such hard sturdy foam, but is lightweight for my seventh grade middle school are it’s been perfect. Easy to carry and easy to protect.

Wow! I am so impressed with this case. I purchased this case for my son's trigger trombone, but it can also be used for his regular tenor trombone. I specifically wanted a case that could be used for either type of trombone. The case is sturdy and structured, has lots of pockets inside and outside, and is super light. The bonus is that it has attached backpack straps! (The backpack straps can also be used as an additional handle due to their design). There are handles all over the case, so you carry it in all sorts of ways. My son is so happy, and he no longer complains about lugging the trombone back and forth to school every day. I wish I had come across this case a year ago when my son started playing the trombone; it would have saved me and my son a lot of headaches. I can't say enough good things about this case. If you are on the fence, don't be. Just buy it. You will be happy that you did.

Just received the case yesterday. The case is lightweight and appears well made. My Bach 42B fits snugly in the case, no extra movement, straps fitting perfectly to secure the horn. My Olds Recording trombone (circa 1960-ish) the bell section fits the cutout, but the straps do not secure it, having too much "play". The slide moves a bit and also has loose strap. I tried, gently, to see if there would be any issue with the parts hitting each other, but they did not. I will either order the case for the "straight" trombone for the Olds or add a bit of velcro to help cinch the straps a bit closer. The music pouch holds music, not a folder, so don't expect to carry a folder. I might find a smaller folder not made for music to help protect the music from bending when using the backpack straps. One concern I had when ordering was that the bell section, being above the shoulder straps, would protrude into the back of my head. This was not an issue and just did clear my head (I am 5', 11"). Nice, snug straps for backpack, very comfortable fit (and I have some more muscular build in the chest and wider shoulders which usually has straps cut into them). If there are any "cons", it would be that the zipper will take some getting used to, but that is probably because I am used to my old Altieri bag, which had smaller zippers at the end. I was thinking of getting the PL239 for my Bach 42B, but I believe I like the protection of the more solid foam on this bag more. It is also more sleek/slender, which will be easier to maneuver, pack, place in crowded rehearsal space, prevent "catching" (like my Altieri does). Overall, having just a brief tryout, this appears to be top quality and an especially good price to go along with it.

Word of Advice - Place the mouthpiece in the compartment by the waterkey, otherwise it can potentially damage your instrument! The case has 2 compartments (by the waterkey/bottom of slide) and near the bell. I assumed both were good to use, until I picked up the case and heard the mouthpiece hit the instrument. No damage was done, but realized the compartment by the waterkey/slide end has another piece of casing on it to prevent it from opening. The other compartment (though it does have an elastic band to hold it closed), doesn't have anything. So any hard/heavy items shouldn't likely be kept there.Besides that though, I love how many ways there are to hold and travel around with it. I normally use the backpack option, as I am carrying other instruments or music with it. The music folder works, but will not hold most school music folders without sticking out/being unzipped. The protection it offers though is awesome, plenty of room for a regular tenor trombone and fairly snug fit. There is some wiggle room holding the bell/slides in place with their velcro straps, but that's mostly because it's made to hold some base/trigger trombones.

To confirm, it is really a trombone case. Great gig bag and perfect fit for an 88HO, also have its little brother for my 2B.

This case is awesome! I bought this to replace my old deteriorating particle board case and already I wish I had bought this sooner. First off, this case is incredibly light, and remains so even after being loaded with my trombone. This not to say that the case does not feel sturdy, it definitely feels like it could withstand a few hard knocks. The case is composed of a hard shell covered by nylon, with built in backpack straps on the bottom, an outer pocket that can fit a trombone stand, and hooks for a detachable shoulder strap. The interior is a soft black plush with two compartments for supplies, neither of these has a dedicated mouthpiece holder, but that is not a problem because the case comes with a mouthpiece sleeve. In terms of the fit on the inside, I read a few reviews of people saying this case did not fit their trombone or people who are worried that it won't fit, but this case easily fit my Yamaha closed wrap trombone with an F-attachment with a few extra inches to spare (it might fit an open wrap, check the photos). Anyway, this is a great case for a great price. Definitely consider picking this up if you're looking for a solid budget case.
