I'm currently studying trombone in university, and I needed a straight mute but wasn't ready to drop the $100+ on a Denis Wick. I purchased this one on a whim, as I could not find any reviews anywhere.I LOVE IT. It has a great response, and the intonation is as if there is no mute in the horn. Comparing it side-by-side to my friend's Denis Wick, it looks the exact same. It makes me wonder if they are made in the same factory but then sent off to their specific companies for branding. They also played the exact same. The only difference is that his costed $90 and mine costed $45 (at the time of review)Overall, I am very happy with this mute. If you are on a budget, get this mute!
