Great item, use it all the time. It has greatly improved my water, which was horrible.

Firstly, I'm no water quality scientist, meaning I have no clue if their claims of level of filtration are true. I'm hopeful they are (look them up) because the price is certainly high. They do an excellent job cleaning up the taste of water. Please note, we don't have hard water where I live, so I can't speak to its efficiency there. Fwiw, these are NSF/ANSI-42 certified - compared to the old Berkey filters, these blow those old Berkeys out of the water.I'm using it in a Berkey travel water filter, and the two pack of filters fits perfectly in there. I'm glad I have these installed, plus I'm glad I have an option for filter replacements so I'm hopeful this company will stick around with its current certification. Please note: at first, filtration was awfully slow. It took roughly 2-3 hours to filter a gallon of water, and, at first it wouldn't filter the last 1/4 gallon of water or so due to air building up somewhere along the line. The instructions say to run through 2-3 cycles of water before using. I got a bit impatient after the water wouldn't run clear after running 5-6 cycles through these. I'm glad I stuck with it. I probably ended up running 12 cycles (possibly more) before the water ran clear, without a funny taste, with all available water going through. It takes roughly an hour for it to filter one whole gallon now. I've had these for two months and I have no complaints provided they last.

I’m so disappointed; I have purchased ProOne filters before and the water flavor has been fantastic. However, with this set, the water tastes awful. I’ve checked and they’re clean, the gravity tank is clean, and I can see no reason for it, but the water just tastes BAD. Super disappointed and not sure where to get filters now.

This is my second time ordering this brand filter. First time i ordered the 9" and, while they filtered well (much faster than Berkey so I questioned their efficacy, but the water tasted good so...) the nut stripped super easily. On this set (the 7", because what's the point of the top two inches of the filter when they're hardly under the water, why not design one that is a large ball at the bottom?) these seem improved as the flow rate is 50% slower (think more thorough and closer to Berkey's rate) and the threads and nut didn't strip out this time as they seem sturdier. A good filter improved (or perhaps it's just the shorter size)

A few years back, not willing to spend the money for a Berkey, I bought a cheaper option that used Royal Berkfield filters and was very satisfied. Since that time I have noticed that this company seems to make a better product and still much cheaper than Berkey. I really like the fact that it has NSF certification, which is almost unheard of in the water filter game and this model also removes fluoride without having to add extra filters. Very pleased so far.

I was out of patience with Berkey. Their filters are constantly out of stock. I decided to try the ProOne filters, since it was time to replace the two filters in my Big Berkey. The ProOne removes fluoride, which is a pro or con depending on the individual.Pros: these filters are available; Berkey filters are always out of stock. The ProOne has NSF certification, which is the industry standard for water filter testing; Berkey does not, but claims it uses a third party lab for testing. ProOne filters are easier to install, less expensive, and seem sturdier than the Berkey black filters. There is no priming, no red dye test, and no leakage. I always worried the repeated filling and removal for cleaning might damage the Berkey filters, which seem fragile, but the Pro-1 filter seems more solidly attached to the base.Cons: The Pro1 filter is good for 1,200 gallons, so it’s life as advertised is half the advertised life of a Berkey filter. Of course, each filter is good for 1,400 gallons, so my system will filter a total of 2,800 gallons. That is a lot of water, and I’d replace the Berkey filters well before their advertised life since I’d worry about damage over time.Your choice. I like both filters, but at least the ProOne filters are available.

I ordered these as a replacement for my Big Berkey. It's been hard to find genuine Berkey filters and when you do they are ridiculously expensive. I researched alternatives and found testing numbers for these and several others compared including Berkey and they are very close with these better in some categories and slightly less in other. These installed easily in my Berkey tank and it was nice to not have to purge them. The fluoride and chemical filtering is part of the main filter which is also nice. There were reports that these were slow but i have not experienced that. I have a sight glass in my tank and it seems to fill at a normal pace. The water tastes just as good and i can still smell the difference from of source water. It seems to filter just as well. At half the cost of Berkey and with the security of knowing they are genuine these filters are a great buy and will be my choice as long as i can get them.
