This is a solid piece of furniture, and the item appears exactly as pictured. I had a problem assembling the first chair the seller shipped and reported it promptly, both through Amazon and the seller's website. The very next day, I received a call from the customer service agent who was most helpful. We discovered there was a manufacturing defect, and the seller replaced the chair promptly. The customer service agent even wrote me a personal note to recommend which screw to use in one place where I had difficulty. I am most pleased with this company and recommend them. As for value for the money, I cannot comment because there are not many such items on the market at this time. I expect this item to hold up and if you are looking for such an item, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Received this valet with all parts and pieces EXCEPT an instruction manual. Oo-kay. So I emailed the manufacturer to request one. But due to the lateness of the hour, I set about trying to assemble it without the manual.I’m pleased to say the design was moderately easy to understand. The parts make assembly very intuitive. I was able to assemble it completely.The next morning I had an email back and the manual attached. Compared the manual with my work and it was exactly as designed. The manufacturer’s rep was apologetic and very nice.This piece is a very good value for the money.4 Stars was for no manual. Would've been 5 stars had I not had to wing it.Highly recommend.

The wood is decent, nice stain, and the assembly is ok, but it should be redesigned to create the finished look this butler wants to be. For example, there are two screws exposed on one of the inner wood pieces and the plastic screw hole plugs for the remaining holes are off in color and will break easily. If this chair had a quality plug then I would feel ok with the price, but if would great at $50-$75 less as is.

Shopped around for one of these and went with what looked like the best deal. Product was well packaged, no shipping damage, and all components, instructions contained in the box. Main wood frame components are sturdy and had no fitment issues. Assembly was straight forward, but some of the hardware didn't match the price point. Some of the wood screws heads stripped out easily; wood dowels were a bit too short; the drawer bumpers/stops did not fit securely and will probably fall out. The drawer unit itself has a thin bottom, so it shouldn't be used for any heavy items. The machine screw for the pull knob was too short, so I couldn't attach that. Considering just doing away with the drawer. In my opinion, this is not a $200 piece of furniture, more like $100 - $140.
