I have only used this anvil once and have forged out one railroad spike knife. BEWARE! This isn’t a hardened steel face anvil. I did a lot of research and looked at a lot of anvils and chose this one because it said “forged steel anvil’. This infers that it is hardened because of being forged. This differs from CAST steel anvil or CAST iron anvil. I specifically decided not to get an iron one as they are softer, work steel differently, and take more abuse. This is a Chinese knockoff of what should be a hardened FORGED steel anvil. I should’ve bought a comparable one for a fraction of the price at harbor freight. At least then I would expect it to be worn, even after one usage. DONT but if you’re looking for a hardened faced anvil.
