I've been a fan of this design for a long time, but I normally bought the Mr. Gasket brand. I thought I'd give these a shot, and they leaked terrible from the initial start. I retightened the bolts, and it only improved minimally. I had an used set of Mr. Gasket branded one's in the shop that I put back in, and they sealed perfectly. If you compare the two brands side by side, the Mr. Gasket brand has many more layers. Side note: Mr. Gasket is cheaper and far superior.

these gaskets seal very good, and you can remove the header and re use a couple of time.

After putting a set of headers & upgraded dual-exhaust on my 78' Vette, the noise progressive got louder. Knowing that typical exhaust gaskets have a tendency to burn up, especially from the higher heat of headers/aftermarket exhausts, I decided to try a set o Aluminum gaskets. Immediately after installing the engine was world's quieter, and the new gaskets haven't shown any sign of wear yet.Install itself was fairly straight-forward, and no issues noted. Though it was a little ambiguous of whether they go in smooth side or perforated side to the block. But I think in the end, it really doesn't matter much.
