I have no problem with this other than it’s almost identical to other kinds I tried just like it. I’ve installed enough of these to understand that if you try to use previous hardware with the new hardware, you are asking for trouble. Take the extra few minutes to remove the old stuff and install the new stuff. I am not a big fan of the turn lock, but I believe the design makes it so the person leaving the bathroom can’t forget to have the lock turn back to vacant. You have to twist it to get out. The only negative on this is you can twist to lock it and close the door from the outside. I know the thick expensive doors in commercial settings are different than ones at home, but I don’t think the holes drilled are any different. The only thing I can see being a problem is if you try to install on a steel door because the lock has sharp points that bite the wood when you tighten it together. You would probably have to make holes for these “teeth” in a steel door.

The handle is heavy duty and should last a long time in a commercial environment. The one thing I don't like is that the inside handle does not automatically unlock the door when twisted. This may or may not be a requirement in some buildings.Edit - revised rating down to 1-star for two reasons:1. The lock/unlock handle is 90 off from the US standard - it is vertical when unlocked, and horizontal when locked. This is 90 degrees from every other lock I've encountered, and cannot be changed. The manual illustrates this position, so it's not a manufacturing error, either.2. The manual states that the lockset fits a 1-3/8 door, but it does not. If you install it on a 1-3/8 door, the inside handle bottoms out on the tailpiece before the handle seats properly.So for all three of these reasons, I would not recommend this product.

This is a good door knob for the bathroom and will stop people from shaking on the door while someone is in the restroom

I was surprised at the weight of this door lock. It's got a heavy duty feel. I installed it on a short 2-foot interior bathroom door. The lever is kind of large for the 2-foot wide door, but functions as it should. All the hardware you need comes with the door handle, including the strike plate, latch, screws, lever removal pin, and even a plastic strike box. Since I was replacing an existing knob, I opted to use most of the existing hardware on the door and just installed the handle.Pay close attention when you're installing the handles, especially if removing the exterior handle to inspect the components; The exterior safety unlock has a tendency to not stay in the properly aligned position, and if this happens, you won't be able to attach both handles, only one or the other will properly clip back on. I ended up applying excessive force in attempt to get both the handles reattached, which caused the safety unlock to deform before I realized the alignment issue. If safety unlock latch was secured, or there were notes in the manual to confirm alignment during installation, this would easily be 5-stars.

First lock was the wrong color inside the right box, but the second doesn't allow the handle to connect to the pin in the rear. This means when you pull the handle it just comes off. Other than that trying to get the front cover off in-order to reverse it is a pain and took over an hour before it finally gave way. The occupancy status was also also so when it was initially installed it wouldn't lock all of the way which meant we had to disassemble it and tweak it to get it to work correctly. Overall a nightmare installation that took several hours for something that should've been done in less than 10 minutes.

It's embarrassing to try to open and knock a occupied bathroom. with this large build-in signs, bold looking door lock, no more guessing for the guest and no more disruption for the person in there. It is build tough, strong material, good paint finishing, smooth operation, easy installation. for a privacy door lock with extra security featuer, it is complicated compare to regular door lock, still easy to install.

This door handle with the "vacant" and "in use" sign is exactly what we needed for our pool house bathroom. Since the door doesn't have any windows, it was always a hassle to figure out if someone was inside, but this handle solves that problem perfectly. This bathroom lever lock is easy and quick to install, has a consistent smooth movement, the finish feels soft but durable, it locks and unlocks simply and smoothly, and, everyone really likes the access sign on the outside of the lock. A few people have said this feature reminds them of the bathrooms on airplanes.You feel the quality when you use it so, I give it my highest marks.
