The small pieces started to clog the air flow in my Kamado Joe. After a short cook, I opened the vents. The temp only rose to about 500F. It did continue to hold temp for quite a while.

I only bought this trash because amazon stopped shipping FOGO to my location. I thought primo would be a good substitute, but I was wrong. It appears they use scrap wood and not natural hardwood. Gives off a nasty black smoke until the coals are grayed over, for this reason you can’t use it for low and slow cooking. Your food will have black suet all over it if you try to cook before the coals are completely 🔥.

A bit expensive but it seems to be better than the common brands found in the big box stores. Ordering on Amazon was convenient because the nearest store selling Primo charcoal is about 25 miles away.

This lump charcoal is the real deal. I use this in my green egg. Large pieces, lights quick, burns long. Little pricey, but worth it

I use this in my Primo grill and I have not had one complaint since. I used to use charcoal in a charcoal grill, but ever since I got a Primo grill I have used this and MAN what a difference the coals make, My food is 10 times more moist and of course tastes much better also.

I like this charcoal and would probably buy it again especially with free super saver shipping but there are a lot of smaller pieces in the bag. If they were all the larger sized pieces they would last longer but many pieces are so small that they fall right through my chimney charcoal starter. Overall its a great price for quality charcoal and hopefully I just ended up with the runt bag.

Used on my Big Green Egg for searing some steaks and it worked great. It lit and was up to high temperatures quickly. I have not tried it for low-temperature cooking yet.

Great wood charcoal made here in the USA.The pieces were nicely sized, not too big, not too small. Surprising little amount of charcoal dusts in this HUGE bag.I previously used Bull brand, and they had just too much dusts and some pieces were way too big. Some of them were as big as a half a loaf of bread. I noticed that Bull brand was made in Mexico.I am going to use Primo brand going forward. They lit up very fast (I used charcoal chimeny and all it took was couple of pages of newspaper)and burns hot.
